Yep, and I honestly have no idea why Hurt Locker won, it wasn't THAT good.Originally Posted by StarryEyedTiGeR
I couldn't agree more! Avatar deserved the award for "Best Picture". It was an amazing movie!

Can anyone tell me the title of a movie that Kate Winslet played in and won the Best Actress Oscar Award last year. She played a German who gets involved with a boy much younger than her. I wasn't able to watch it on On Demand and it is no longer there but I would like to rent it. Hopefully someone remembers the name of it, thanks.
That's one of my favorite movies too!!! A real gem and wonderful film-making. I can watch it over and over again and still be riveted.Originally Posted by Natalie_ca

One of my favourite movies is "Fargo". Compared to today's motion pictures, it's hugely low budget, but the actor's talent shines through and so does the storyline. Which to me is what a movie should be.
I LOVE Fargo too. Pretty much any Coen Brothers movie, I love.Originally Posted by Natalie_ca
I haven't seen either of the movies that were up for best picture. I do want to see Avatar purely for the 3D experience. The other movie, I can't get beyond the title "The Hurt Locker", it sounds like a dumb title and usually if I can't get into the title, I won't watch the movie. IE: "Fried Green Tomatoes". I've tried watching, but the title has tainted it for me and I end up turning the channel after 10 minutes.
That sounds like it might be it, I would've never remembered that title. Thanks so much
Wow... i watched this movie because i was bored and it was on thinking it was totally suck... It was amazing! Even my boyfriend, who hates these types of films was affected by it.
