Need tips fast on keeping cats in.

Hello

my 2 boys are getting neutered tomorrow, first thing, so I need tips fast on how to keep them in tonight. Our oldest cat will not like staying in, and will make us open a window, (when the other cats go out).

What about bathroom? We don't have cat litter - Why? they never used it.

I have put puppy pads down, not sure if that will help? Ideas?

12 hours to go.

If they go out, they will not get back in. It has taken 12 hours getting them in last time.

There is a 14 week old kitten (3 1/2 month old) which is teasing all the male cats which has not been done in this area. Currently 7 cats chancing her now, We have told her owners, who has 2 male non neutered cats.

If my 2 went out, that would be 9 male non neutered cats, you see, there are very few females in heat due to one reason or another, and where I live are always low on cats/kittens at the pounds.

Pretty simple really, do not open the window or doors and ignore their meows to go out.

You really should get some cat litter, or at the least a box with some dirt or sand - whatever they usually use outside.

That poor little girl, can you talk to the neighbours about getting her and the other cats done? She is not teasing the boys, or doing anything wrong.

Thats what I thought about using the same stuff they use outside, but use it in a box for inside. I would get cat litter, but its 10:30pm on sunday, everywhere is closed now. I thought we had some in the shed.

This female cat really is asking for it. She will come up, right up to the window, and do a strange meow, turn her back, flick her tail up and down, showing and teasing the cats in the area.

I only know of 1 cat to turn away, thats bubbles.

I would keep them in a small room with the litter box, water and food... but I guess you must gone to bed already...
Good luck!

Is there any way you can take the female in the be fixed? She is going to be pregnant really soon, and at such a young age it can kill her.

No way to get the female in, we are struggling to get our boys in - due to transport.

The owners want to get their cats done in 2-3 weeks. They keep letting her out, when we bring her back.

I am in bed, but bollo is trying to scratch at the door, bubbles is scratching at the door the other side.

Bubbles would break down the door easily - He went though the door, so we had to put a cat flap in a door in the middle of our house.

They are not allowed food. But have water, and a strange litter tray. Our cats like freedom, and its strange to be cooped up in a small room, I am here with them though.

Oh duh, I forgot about the surgery - are they allowed water all night?

My cat was not allowed water either... Food from 10pm the night before, and water from midnight...
Your babies will be fine...

I'm very glad to hear you're getting your boys neutered!

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but they will still be fertile and can still impregnate that female cat for a few weeks after the surgery.

It's also going to take a few weeks, or a couple of months, for you to notice the behavioral changes associated with neutering them. They'll start to wander less, stay closer to home, and will probably want to stay inside with you more. Neuter is just about the easiest surgery there is. When I was a vet assistant, I did my own cat's neuter. It literally took 5 minutes and was done! Don't worry...they'll do just fine. You're likely adding years to their lives by having them fixed.

Their done.

The vet said 1 week before they can't get another cat pregnant. 6 weeks for the hormones to level out. after this, they will start to stay around home, and act more like bubbles, but hopefully less aggressive.

I am currently trying to get them to go to the bathroom.

Good luck! Unfortunately I don't have any litterbox suggestions for you. I'm sure your boys will be good as new in no time.

The most annoying thing is, taffy will run at every window or door to get out, then he will lay down and go to sleep for 20-30mins meanwhile bollo will run to every window or door to get out. I have had this all night, and got about 2 hours sleep when they was at the vets, now its the same again.

They really need the bathroom.
