So its mealtime. First of all, I bring the food to them, wherever they happen to be. Cindy was curled up on DH's old sweatshirt, so that's where I put the food. Under her nose, on the sweatshirt. She sniffs it, sits up, yawns and waits for me to move the bowl over to where she is now sitting.
Of course, I did.

Of course, you did! We humans are relatively educable, provided a cat is patient.

Of course Miss Cindy is a princess! But, then again, aren't all of our kitties either princes or princesses?! The way they have us all trained, I'd think they most certainly are!

That's one thing I'll admit to not doing for my girls and boy -- I don't, under regular circumstances, bring their food to them. However, they're not typically ones to turn their noses up at food and are almost always waiting not-so-patiently for me to put their food down for them in its designated place. It seems my cats have a little bit more training to do on their meowmy
.

I didn't start out doing it that way either, but one time Cindy was ill and not eating and I was doing everything I could think to get her to eat a litte (usually just licking some of the gravy) by putting the bowl in front of here whereever she happened to be.

and yes, both my kitties have me very wll trained

I have the ultimate princess: a seal bicolor Ragdoll named Sugar Magnolia (aka Maggie.) She has commandeered the crow's nest of the cat tree and won't let my boys up there. She will also station herself by the shelf where we keep the nip and stare until one of us comes through. Another time I gave Bear some nip after medicating his sore eye and she stole it from him. She's not violent or nasty about it, just has a massive sense of entitlement. I wonder whose fault that is?
