What could this be.. medical opinion

I have a 17 year old female. She is spade. Three weeks ago she seemed to be going to the litter box every 20 minutes and was leaking a fluid.
I took her to the hospital.. They kept her 2 days. Gave her some antibiotic and fluids. It was found by the tests, her kidney count was slightly just over the higher limit.
XRAY showed one kidney small and useless. She has always drunk a lot of water… Since we can remember she has always been at a sink or bowl drinking water.

After getting out of the hospital a week later… she was leaking again. I could not tell from where, but I knew she was not comfortable. She kept hiding. After a few hours it passed. I took urine to the Dr and it did not show anything. I was thinking it was her anal glands.

Yesterday… once again she was leaking. It does not smell, and it is pinkish in color. I would say maybe 20 drips total. She threw up, which has happened in the past with the same leaking. While she was licking and cleaning, she allowed me to look and see where it was coming from.
It was not her anus. It was dripping slightly from where she urinates. I also noticed that this area was flexing and contracting. As it contracted, a slight drip came out.
She kept cleaning herself and then dragging her bottom on the rug. This lasted only a couple of hours. Then she appears OK. Today she is fine.. but I can tell something is bothering her. She is eating, drinking, peeing and doodies all OK.

Any ideas what this could be?

Please help… this is my daughter…. I may take her to a different DR.

Yeah she needs to be seen by another vet ..

She might have a urinary tract infection or something going on with her kidneys. Whatever it is , it's not right and she needs to go to the vet again. Take her to a different vet for a 2nd opinion.

Just made an appointment for Monday... Any Ideas what this could be?
First vomit
Then small amout of fluid from urine track area... contractions of that area
Slides on the rug to itch...
then it stops and she is fine.

IMHO and I have said it Twice ... and ER visit is needed... at her age anything from an upset tummy to a tumor that burst to worms...

Do you use clumping litter? If so, has she produced a significantly sized clump of urine in it recently? If she hasn't she may well be blocked or have crystals which could actually be cutting into her urinary tract, causing internal bleeding (the "pink" you saw).

This is considered a veterinary emergency, especially if she's not producing enough urine in her box.

I've got to agree with the rest that an ER vet would be the best in this situation. At the very least call one and describe the symptoms along with what tests, etc. your original vet did.

If she is your daughter and you consider her your child, what would you do if it were a human child in this situation?

I took a urine sample down to the vet tech today. She has no problem peeing. Pleanty in the box... Drinks usually alot and nothing changed there.
Waiting for results.... Unine looks clear and normal color.
They would not take her in today because I could not pay for the emergency visit...must pay up front... I hate the entire human and vet medical system.

Glad you took the urine in for analysis.

Look into getting Care Credit for animals. http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/ You can also search for a vet or clinic that accepts Care Credit.

I hope you get a good report on your cat. I agree with what everyone else said. Further testing is needed. The urine is pink for a reason. I hope you take her in on Monday.

Certain urinary stones can cause hematuria (blood in the urine) that will produce a pinkish urine. Also, bladder tumors can cause this problem. Sounds like a urinary problem overall, to me, that is.

Good luck!

Okie
