Yesterday Tasha had her second dose of wormer, on vet instructions, one week after her rabies jab. She had no reactions to it and seemed fine, so I had no qualms about taking her shopping today and to visit a friend. She doesn't yet like the car much and often poops or vomits, so I was prepared (I thought!)
When I stopped the car I found that she had vomited two large piles of what looked like white rice! AS I have never given her rice, or even cooked it in the last week, I naturally thought it was dead worms and I was horrified. I just could not believe that she could have had so many. I cleared it up with tissue and when I got home disinfected everything thoroughly, wondering if I should chat with the vet tomorrow.
Then this evening I went to look at the ponies and I found a load of rice scattered beneath a tree! I was looking at it when my tenant came out, saw me looking and said she had thrown it out for the birds. When I told her that Tasha had eaten most of it and that I had thought she had the worst case of worms I had ever seen, we both laughed fit to bust.
