So yesterday was the grand opening of the second location of the business I work for. It went really well but on Monday I worked almost 12 hours 8 hours at the orginal location and another 4 hours helping the owner put out merchandise to sell. Yesterday I worked from 5:45 am again 8+ hours at orginal location and drove over to new store and clocked out at 6:39 pm!!

Needless to say 98% of that time I was on my feet and the balls of my feet are still achy today!!
I wore yesterday the food service Crocs and monday walking shoes (today my older running shoes).

I was planning on soaking in whirlpool tub in a couple of hours and aiming my feet under the jets but any other advice???

It sounds like you could use some professionally made custom orthotics. Not those Dr. Scholl's that you buy in the store, I mean the kind you get made from plaster moulds of your feet.

I used to have such sore feet from working on the ward. I finally got some orthotics made and I couldn't believe the difference. No more sore feet! Absolutely none!

Also, when you are on your feet a great deal, it's good soak your feet and use a pumice stone on the callouses. Don't get rid of them all in one session though. You need to give your feet time to adjust to the newer, softer skin that is coming to the surface.

Foot massages are a good thing too. Have your significant other give you a good foot massage with some nice creamy lotion that will help to soften the skin too.

They aren't usually sore but i think just that vast amount of time without a break made didn't help. Calluses aren't bad as I watch that pretty closely.

Soak as long as you can stand it in water as hot as you can take. Add to the water a good dose of epsom salts, a bit of alum and (go ahead and laugh) a shot of horse linament, Tuttles Elixir if you can find it, Absorbine if you cant.

When my feet are sore, I either get my husband to rub them or I soak them in a foot bath with epsom salts.

Ahhh, I love foot massages!! Sometimes when we're watching tv or a movie, DH will pick up my feet and start massaging them. I'm in heaven!

The whirlpool tub does help your feet; our kids got us one several years ago for Christmas. Several people in my building have gotten orthotics (some because of diabetes, some because their feet just hurt) and they are very pleased with them.

Good luck!

In addition to the great advice from the others, I would add elevation. Prop your feet up nice and comfy after you're finished soaking them.

I have used BenGay liniment for times I had been on my feet a long time. I know my Mom had a peppermint foot cream she loved.

Well I stuck them under the jets for a some time yesterday. They felt much better this morning in fact I did my 3.2 mile walk/run this evening. The balls of my feet a little sore after that not too much though. I have a million bottles/tubes of foot lotions/potions I wll dig some out and use tonite!
I did remember about the epsom salts but I think my container is in my garden shed (its good for roses in the spring!)
