I know that cats are creatures of habit, but Holland seems to randomly develop new habits at times. Lately she's taken to patting my face or my hair with her paw when she feels it's time for me to get up and feed her in the morning.

And if I don't cater to her immediately upon waking she will add a pathetic little mew like she's starving to death because she hasn't eaten for nearly 12 hours...

Ah, yes...
Breakfast Patrol. How well I remember that, though neither of my current girls does it.

Another funny thing she's been doing lately:

I had been keeping the door to my second bedroom closed for a long time because the window was broken - well, not broken broken, but stuck a little bit open. I kept the door closed and the vent in the bedroom shut so I wouldn't have to pay to heat/cool the room.

I finally got the window fixed a couple months ago, so the room is open for her to roam around in. Anytime I can't find her and call her she runs out of that room with a guilty look on her face, like she is convinced that she's not supposed to be in there...

Poor girl. I always tell her that it's OK for her to be in there, but she just can't seem to get over being shut out of it for over a year.

"I'm a good girl Mommy, REALLY!"

As for the whole meowing like she's starving, I know THAT meow.
God forbid my cats see the bottom of the food bowl.

this am Beeba was earlier than usual in waking me. Usually it's 3 am. Today it was 1:30.

I have to get up because we have an electric blanket and when he starts walking around and jumping on and off the bed, I am scared he will puncture a hole in a wire.

I think I will sleep later when it's summer and the blanket is off the bed!

Just thought I'd add to the ever growing list of Holland's cute new habits...

Yesterday and today she just cannot stand for me to be on the computer. She keeps jumping onto the back of my office chair and patting my shoulder with her paw... "'scuse me mommy, time to play with me now". So of course I always get up to play with her and then she shows no interest in playing.

She sort of reminds me of my 3-year-old nephew who will always show off if everyone in the room is NOT paying attention to HIM!!!
