You want to know a way? Tell her to sit in on a manual declaw. Tell her to listen to the sound of their nails being cut and ripped off. Tell her to see how tightly the bandages are after declaw. The sound alone will turn her off. It's gut wrenching. I know it... I've assisted in them. It's horrible.
IF the cats are STRCITLY INDOORS, and preferably have a medical reason for it, LASER DECLAW is soooo much better than manual. It's hard on the wallet, but a better alternative if declawing is the LAST RESORT or for a medical reason.
Two of my kitties had to be declawed for medical reasons; one kitty's paws were so sensitive that she cried when she walked, and the other kitty is mentally challenged and was hanging herself on everything (even when she's actually let me trim her nails, she would still get hung up on blinds, curtains, you name it), and though it was quite pricey, I opted for laser declaw... even so, I was SOOOO nervous about having it done. But, kitties are healthy and no longer hurting, so... it had to be done....
Again, tell her to sit in on a surgery... that would be convincing enough....
Hope everything works out!
Okie
