Both of my cats seem to do well on the Honest Kitchen & Grandma Lucys foods which are dehydrated so I add water every morning to the food which makes it soft. Well Yoshimi my Siamese mix always sits in front of her dish and dips her paw repeatedly in it and licks it off! She never eats directly out of the bowl. It's very cute & amusing!

Aww...that's so cute! Ootay(rb 5/09) used to eat her canned food that way, and drink water that way. Mazy cat likes to scoop hers out of the dish with her paw and eat from the floor. Tolly circles his dish suspiciously three times before he will eat.

Hahahaha.....cute! Yes it is very amusing!
Merlin has to run around and test each dish as I put the food in it, wet or dry. I guess he's trying to figure out which one tastes best before he settles, even though they are all exactly the same food.
Mine just devour their food.
Attitude likes to stick her paw in wet food and either lick it off her paw if it's pate style or throw the chunks on the floor before eating them.
They also have to go to both dishes(or all 3 when Maude was around) before deciding which one was the best one to eat out of at that moment despite the fact that they all contained exactly the same thing and it's never the same bowl twice.
They also will both decide the same bowl is the most appealing and try to eat out of it at the same time. Of course the bowl right next to it has the same exact stuff but they have to try and eat out of the same small bowl.
I love to hear other cats food rituals. Lets me know my cats aren't too crazy, but then again how do you think Nuts got his name
