Persian in BAD condition

I am a volunteer with a local cat rescue and we just rescued a badlly neglected 10 year old persian from a high kill shelter. He was turned in along with 9 other persians in equally poor condition! Other rescues took the others, he was the last one.

Someone had tried to give him a shave and cut parts of his skin right off!!! Razor burn and cuts are everywhere on him. He is still oozing and bleeding, so I put some antibiotic ointment on his cuts and then put a baby onsie on him.

He also has runny poo and may have parasites. He was never neutered!!!! He is also missing a lot of teeth and his breath is rancid so he will need dental work.

We are taking him to the vet tomorrow to get him checked out and will do a complete blood analysis because of his age.

Poor boy, I feel so bad for him.

Oh my goodness, how can people be ever so cruel!
Were the people who released them at least charged with animal cruelty? Do you know anything about that?
Thanks for rescuing the little guy

No, I don't think there were any charges. The guy said that they were not his, but a friend dropped them off at his house.

Oh my gosh, my heart just broke. That poor, poor boy. You are an angel for rescuing him. Please let us know how he's doing.

There should be a special place in hell for people that would let a poor, defenseless cat get in this condition!
Bless you for being his angel.

I just got back from the vet. Brad is staying there for a while. They are going to give him fluids and take a blood test.

His teeth are really bad. The vet tried to look in his mouth and almost fell over from the stench.

Poor Bard. My heart aches for him. I really do not like his former owner right now.

I'm so glad to hear that Brad is under good care now. Poor little baby. I just had to have all of Holland's teeth removed because she had hereditary stomatitis. I can tell she's still not used to being my "toothless old lady" (as I call her, even though she's not even 2 years old yet), but she doesn't have the stinky breath she always used to have and at least I don't have to worry about any dental problems in the future!!

I hope Brad doesn't have to have anything that extreme done, but at least he is in good hands. Thank you for rescuing him!!!

Omg what an you are, thankyou so much for helping Brad. I would more than not like his former owner right now, these people should not be able to get away with this. x

Update:

Brad is back with me now. His blood test came back normal!!!!

He needs to rest for about a week and gain some strength before he has his dental surgery.

He is on pain medication antibiotics and prednisone so that he can eat! The sores on his body are still pretty bad. I am putting neosporin on it so it can heal.

Blessings to you for rescuing such a sweet little prince. Mega prayers and vibes that Brad recovers quickly and that his perfect family finds him very soon. Thank God that all those poor Persians' ordeals are over and they have been rescued
