What percentage of men hate cats?

Hmm I don't think more men hate cats than do women. And I think it's less than 40% maybe 5%...
Lol, is that one of those quizzes cuz if it is I fail...
I only know one guy who claims that he hates cats, but I know he secretly loves them and just needs to come out...

I posted the survey and my options were locked out after I posted the survey. All other opinions are welcome even if you do not meet the 1st initial post here Thank you ladies

I would think its leff than 40% so I didn't vote.

I didn't vote either as I also think it is less than 40%. I know my DH has always loved cats

Well, those who actually detest cats is probably a smaller number than that, probably 10-20%. But they are a dangerous crowd, in my opinion.

Most people (not just men) who dislike cats are either deathly allergic or simply don't understand them. They think you can make a cat to what you wnat when you want like a dog, when that just isn't so.

I agree 100% with your post

Our neighbor likes looking at cats from a distance but cannot come in contact with them. It could kill him as he is deathly allergic to them. It would mean a trip to ER for him!

Is this a real quiz?!?! I have a lot of male friends, and not one of them hates cats. There's a couple who don't care for cats either way, but none of them hate cats, the majority of them really like cats and have cats themselves.

And Smudgey prefers men, so most guys that come over get a thorough Smudging

I only know one man that 'claims' to hate cats....calls them vermin. But as he is a huge animal lover, has many on his farm....he just says that to annoy me. My DH gripes about the cats but he loves the heck out of them. Sometimes he just gets jealous about the attention that they demand from me, but he is the first to give into their demands.

So? What's the answer? I'm assuming that this was posted based on a poll that you saw somewhere?

I voted 80% although I was tempted to vote for the next higher choice. I've seen a lot of cruelty done to cats by the human male gender of all ages.

I think it would be around the same as women who really hate cats, there are many men who say they hate cats because cats aren't a 'man thing' but put a kitten in their arms and they turn to mush

I have seen more from women with cats while working in shelters and men with dogs, tbh - people who are predisposed to animal cruelty wont care what species the animal is

It's definitely less than 40%. I'm a guy and I love cats, and there are a few more of us on here. I think the majority of men are indifferent. They don't love cats, but they don't hate them either. I think it's just rare that men adopt cats because they buy in to the stereotype that "dogs are mans best friend" and they end up getting a dog. And after that, most of them feel that they can't get a cat because the dog might hurt it.

Way less than 40%, way less. There is only one man I've ever known who truly hates cats. And I suspect that was due more to a "control" thing. He always said that you can't "control" cats the way you can dogs (his words, not mine). Whatever.

Upon meeting people, I tend to try to find out very early on how they feel about cats. I usually tend to avoid people who don't like cats. If it is a guy who is a potential date....not liking cats is a total deal breaker.

That was my point, exactly. A true cat-hater is a person to be sure never has any power over you.

This is wise. I think if they hate cats (whether privately or outspoken), then more likely than not they harbor a subconscious hatred for women also (just my opinion)

I'm having a hard time with the poll because I can't believe 40% hate cats. In my neighborhood, 100% love cats and I'm the only female!
