OK, week 5 of one episode of diarrhea once a week. Of couyrse she ate some Natural Balance canned cat food and might have ate one of the CET dental treats, plus she is on Amoxicillian so who knows what it could be this time.

How often should I give the Bene-bac I gave her one dose Friday and one on Thurs(they were 12-24 hours apart, can't remember.)

I'll call the vet on Mon and she'll go back to just her regular dry Natural Balance and cut out the treats(which they don't seem to want to touch anyways.)

I'm sick of cleaning up poopy long cat fur(the only reason I know she has it.)
I swear I am going to shave her rear end I am sick of having to clean her up. She hates me cleaning her so this is as much for her as it is for me.

Anyone have any idea what this is? She is not getting into anything she's not supposed to, and as I said this has happened once a week for the past 5 weeks. Nothing is different about her, she is still the same cat she's always been. I just want this to end.

what bene-bac do you have?
powder or the little tubes? Here in my house, I buy the big tubes: this one and give them a full dose once a day for a week when they have diarrhea, or when they are on antibiotics (plus a week after).
I also put 1/4 tsp in every meal, so they get always 1/2 tsp a day...
The full dose for diarrhea is 2tsp.

For food changes, the dose is 2tsp every other day...

I would follow the same protocol for the little tubes, but I don't have them with me... The dosage should be written on the back. As far as how often? IMO every day and a week past the antibiotic treatment.

Ok, I have the tubes and it's 1 tube per 10 lbs and since Attitude is 10.1 lbs she gets one tube.

I'm just frustrated with this. She's a healthy cat, happy, eats, plays, attacks her brother for fun, and drinks just fine. There had been no change in her diet for the last, I think the first 2 were due to the salmon oil I added to their food and this time it could almost be anything. I'm going to take them back to where they were with just their dry natural balance and the occasional can of wet food in varieties I know she can handle. This was the first time they got the NB indoor so it's possible it had something that didn't agree with her.

The vet and I would have an easier time it she had constant diarrhea instead of this intermittent stuff.

It's just so annoying when you just can't figure out what's wrong, as I'm sure you all know. I know she will most likely not have another episode for a week, unless it's the antibiotic. Attitude can't or won't clean her back end. Nuts tries to but she gets mad and walks off. I think he's shoved his nose in her rear once too often and she didn't appreciate getting mounted for a about a minute before Nuts realized she was what he wanted. Half-tail is in heat so I know it's driving his un-neutered body wild. He will be neutered once I have the money, seems like every time I have it saved I have to use it for Attitude or the last time Mama.

As soon as she decided to bug me again I'll shove some Bene-bac in her, she doesn't seem to mind it so I'm assuming it tasted good. I'll talk to my vet and the fortiflora and see which one he prefers. She has her checkup on the mastitis Thurs so she has an appointment this week.

Any other suggestions on this?

I also have another question- How does a spayed cat who has never had a litter nor been pregnant end up with mastitis? She's almost 9 months old and was spayed around Christmas at 5 months old.

My 'free' cats are costing me a FORTUNE and I wouldn't have it any other way, well I'd like fewer vet visits but Attitude always need to be seen for something. Leave it up to me to get the 'sickest' out of the entire litter. I'm not complaining she doesn't go that often and I have full access to get more eye ointment to treat her eye if I need to given it's not ulcerated. Most of her visits have been for eye infections so they figure i know what I'm doing with that. Most of my vet bills have been kitten shots, 2 leukemia tests for Attitude, one for Nuts, getting Attitude spayed and Nuts neutered once I have the money, so 1 time only expenses.

They get a lot cheaper once they are done being kittens, until they reach old age and as much as I hope they do, they might not and then I get to start all over again with new kittens or fosters(I want to foster cats with leukemia and as long as I have Attitude and Nuts I can ONLY foster leukemia positive cats. Only an idiotic rescue would give me a negative cat knowing I have 2 positives), but Paul needs to be ready since Maude's death has him still upset.

It can definitely be the Salmon oil...Why did you add it to their food? Just curious... Some cats just can not take salmon at all... For example my Hope - if I give her Freeze dried Salmon treats, it is Diarrhea for SURE. Bugsy and Lucky are ok with it, but Hope can not have it at ALL.

About Bene-bac: I would go ahead and give her one tube a day for a couple of weeks, then a maintenance dose of one tube a week... If you want to buy the powder (the link I gave you), probiotics are a great thing to add to a diet anyways... Just a little a day, to help with their digestion, immune system, etc...

About Fortiflora: It is a great probiotic, HOWEVER: I just used it with my girl this past week, and I had a BIG problem with it: It is so tasty, she got addicted to it. Seriously, no joke - she held me hostage to it, and would only eat if I sprinkled fortiflora on her food. It might sound funny for some, but it is not funny at all when you are trying to make a cat eat again, and her health might be jeopardized by not eating. I also do not like the ingredients and the fact that the first ingredient is Animal Digest. It is also VERY $$$. Does it work? Yes, it is a true "butt plug"
... But I went back to Bene-bac as soon as possible, and I am sooooooo happy I was able to!
Fortiflora will be be on my bag of tricks for the times when my cats are not eating, instead of using it as a probiotic... IMO Bene-bac is a much safer choice because of that... Fortiflora is amazingly tasty and I am grateful for the experience; I know I can count on it when a cat of mine stops eating... Just not as a probiotic.
Now I do recommend you buying the powder, as the little tubes are too $$$.
Anyways, just my 2cents

I was adding it as a coat supplement but like I said I quit it after the 2nd time she had diarrhea which was 3 weeks ago. It's just when the oil is added on top of the food. She does fine with it in her NB. So I think it was a reaction to that brand of oil since they don't have issues with fish otherwise.

It looks like her rear got worse overnight so it looks like this is more than just a 1 time thing so I'm thinking the antibiotics are doing it. She been on Amoxicilian before without any issues but I don't know. It could also be the CET treats since they were a new addition to her diet. As I said I'm taking her back to nothing but her dry NB and see if that helps, that will at least narrow down what it might have been. As I said I also gave her the NB canned indoor cat formula and that might have caused it. Tried too many new things in one day to know what might have caused it.

I'll keep up with the Bene-Bac they have smaller containers of the powder at Petco since I can't wait for it to ship to me.

I'm dreading having to give her a full bath but rear is dirty enough that she needs one. It would be faster than just trying to clean the area on it''s own with waterless bath foam or a washcloth.
