Brooke, our Malmute (sled dog) is starting to shed!! Bad news for the house and vacuum, but good news for the weather! Does this mean the weather might actually break and spring might be coming?? Lord, I hope so.

My cats always do a pre spring shed in February. I think there must be a significant change in the angle of the sun during this time. I did notice it stay light much longer, almost suddenly. YAY!

Let's hope that Brooke is right! She sounds more accurate than that dumb groundhog!

I've never understood the groundhog thing! They say if it sees its shadow there is going to be 6 more weeks of winter. It's always wrong! Winter ends on March 21st every year regardless of whether it sees it's shadow or not!

I wish! We've had some bitter cold/windy/damp days here. This weekend has been mild, but all last week was freezing and very windy with the wind from the North, making it all the worse.

Gosh, hadn't even thought of that. My Aussie started shedding something crazy this week too. I just assumed bye-bye puppy coat since he's 9 months old, but I'd rather think spring is almost here!

Well, hate to break it to you guys, but we heard this weekend that our area could possibly get another "major winter event" later this week. The almanac is calling for one more storm....lord I hope they're wrong!

I never understood that one either. It's 6 weeks either way. I'm surprised how many people haven't actually done the math and realized that. I guess it was just a town that wanted to cheer up the towns people and it someone became nationwide.
