If you live in the GTA, the OSPCA have microchip clinic opening once a month. Check out their website.

I took Pico in today, only cost $20 compared to the $100 I was quoted at a normal vets. They're only open 4 hours but there was not many people. Just have to fill in some info forms, have her chipped and go. Most people brought their dogs but this is a good chance to have your kitty MCed!!

Tha Animal Rescue League just started doing them here, but they only charge $5 extra on their adoption fees thankfully. I think microchips are a GREAT idea though!

The shelter where I adopted Holland does chip implants before they adopt out. Holland has never made any attempt to get out of my house, but it just makes me feel better to know that she is chipped.

I had no idea how expensive chipping can be! I adopted Holland for around $120, but that included a free first vet visit, her first round of shots, the microchip, spay, and a nice hard-sided carrier. Not to mention one cute little black kitty - what a bargain!
