When she was a kitten, Ms. Pepe's nickname was The PepMonster. She's an adorable, beautiful tortie with a sweet, gentle cry and the sweetest purrsonality. Underneath all that was a little terror.

Ms. Pepe was our plastic girl. She loves plastic bags. She also loves to lick photographs if we don't put them away. We've learned to keep things like that in cabinets.

Many years ago, Ms. Pepe chewed a hole in the plastic Pyrex warmer that you could stick into a microwave. (You microwave it to heat it up, then you could put a casserole on it to keep the food warm for transport.) I had it on top of the fridge, thinking that Pepe would never go up there. Silly me.

Anyway, when I realized that she had chewed the warmer, I "made" Ms. Pepe write a letter to the Customer Service department, telling them what she had done and requesting that they please send her "Meowmie" a new warmer. She had said that her "Meowmie" would gladly send a check to cover the cost of the warmer and for any shipping charges. Pepe even signed the letter as "Ms. Pepe (my last name)" and a pawprint. The Service Rep thought the letter was adorable! She sent me a new warmer and wouldn't accept any money. And, of course, Ms. Pepe then sent her a Thank You note for her time and trouble.

After I found the chewed warmer and realized that Ms. Pepe did, in fact, spend time on the top of the fridge, I put a nice, fluffy pillow on the fridge. I figured if she was going to be up there, she might as well be comfortable. She took naps up there for several years.

Not too long after that, we were repainting the kitchen. We kept the computer in the kitchen at that time and we had moved the desk away from the wall so that we could paint. We kept the computer plugged in until we actually started the paint. Anyway, we had gone out shopping one afternoon. Came back and I turned the computer on. No mouse. I didn't know why the mouse wasn't working. Looked behind the desk.....Ms. Pepe (and I know she did it) had chewed through the mouse cord; thank goodness, she wasn't hurt. Of course, when I went to the store for another mouse, I simply had to tell the clerk that my cat "ate" my mouse!

These aren't the greatest, but here are two pictures of our PepMonster:

Only Ms. Pepe could get caught trying to get into the space above our stereo receiver.

And here's Ms. Pepe as our beautiful geriatric tortie. She turned 14 years old on February 13th.

Napping on their kittycouch:

And checking out the front yard from the living room window. She's sitting with her mom, Whisper:

Thank you for looking.

She's gorgeous! I love torties! She sounds like quite the character. My Jack is the plastic lover... He'll lick, play, but if I move it, he freaks out and runs... He's always been a little ... odd.

Ms. Pepe's Momma isn't too bad looking either...

Pepe is beautiful and I love her stories! I would call her dilute Calico though, not tortie. You must be in the UK.

If you look on her back, in the one where she's napping on the couch, she has the orange 'flecks' in the gray... so I would stand by Tortie... Dilute tortie with white... IMO....

Either way, she's gorgeous!

I guess it's all just a matter of personal point of view. I googled both dilute tortie and dilute calico and pretty much came up with cats that look the same, for either search.

Me, I've always just called them blue and pink kitties.

And yes, she's beautiful!

Aww, look at that lil kitten face! Who would've thought she would grown up to be such a trouble maker?
