Need help understanding new litter box situation please

Suddenly my cat is tracking litter from his feet to my bed. It getting stuck on his rear paws and he is eating/licking it off. I clean three times a day but suddenly most of it annoyingly is soggy clay that gets stuck on my plastic scooper and the bottom of the litter pan. I notice my pal bucket says Scoop Away on the side not Fresh Scoop I guess I screwed up. I wonder if Scoop Away is this bad? It could also be that he is peeing more since he wants six meals of wet natural balance a day instead of four.
I have Monday off and I was thinking now that he is 12lb instead of 10 I would get the biggest new litter pan I can find just encase he needs more room and a mat. Any other suggestions why the clay is sticky soggy instead of clumping? I cant even get it completely off his rear paws and that cant be too good to eat.

It sounds like a combination of more moisture in his food and litter that is not as good at clumping.

I use Tidy Cat Scoop for Multiple Cats. I have not noticed any between their claws and they all eat wet food.

I'd try a different litter. Litter on the bed is a bummer!

First, I'd try a different litter. Watch for something that says "hard clumping."

Then, I'd make the litter a little deeper in the box.

And third, if those two don't work, I'd check to be sure he doesn't have a problem such as diabetes. This is a long shot, and fortunately not very likely.

If you accidentally picked up a different brand of litter, that would explain it. We get used to what we use regularly, and when it's different it just doesn't seem right. If you pick up your old brand next time you should be back to normal.

But, yeah, a bigger litter pan is always a good idea, and making the litter deeper helps to keep the pee from sticking to the bottom.

On day two of Fresh Step, just an amazing difference, we are back to normal. I had no idea that sand litter could be so different.I will never accidentally pick up Scoop Away again, it terrible for the smell department and urination of male cat.

It's amazing how simple some solutions can be, isn't it?

See, I thought so to. But one friend of mine will ONLY use Scoop Away, it's the only one she likes. She once bought Tidy Cats because the store was out of Scoop Away, and she hated it so much she gave me the rest of the bucket. Like I said, we get accustomed to what we normally use and that's that, I guess.

I used to use Scoop Away. I switched over to Tidy Cat multiple cat scoopable and it seems to handle odours better. The cats have never been picky about what brand it is, I'm just picky about the smell!

I also tried Swheat Scoop and though I liked it, it seemed to get tracked around more and also took on a strange smell after a while. Then I switched over to Tidy cat and have kept to that brand for a few years now.

I love the Special Kitty litter in the green and orange boxes you can get from Walmart they are amazing!!! This coming from someone who swore they would never use anything but Scoop Away (I loved that stuff) but now we mix the clumping litter from Tractor Supply because it has bigger clay pieces and is less sandlike compared to the Special Kitty but I like the SK because it doesnt seem to let the pee sink to the bottom and stick. All three of my cats like to dig as far down to the box as they can go and then pee so I always had a problem with pee clumps sticking to the bottom.

A good quality door mat in front of the litter boxes will help prevent litter being tracked into the rest of the house. Try it, it works!

Totally agree! Also you may want to consider Nature's Miracle cat litter. It's 100% natural, so if the cats ingest it, it will not harm them. Also it's 100% flushable. It clumps pretty good too!
