Oh my, that is so sad.
My heart goes out to you both!!!!!!
I am anxious for the day when there is a post about his condition finally being treatable.
Wow, Laurie! Just wow!Originally Posted by LDG

It's been a rough week. He has become very sensitive to changes in pressure, and the recent bout of snowstorms has just had tight pressure bars rolling through here constantly - it's just been a nightmare.
Sadly, narcotics are the only thing that help provide any relief. And it's just partial and temporary. And he hates it. The good news is that unless he combines diazempams (which he uses sometimes to try to help him get some sleep) with them, they don't get him high or even mentally fuzzy - I guess with the amount of pain he's in either they just don't have those side effects or the dulling of pain itself makes him more clear headed. I don't know. I just know he's functional (meaning he has a good 2 -5 hours a day) with them and is not functional at all without them.
The saddest thing, though, is that looking at those pictures you can really see the "spark" has left his eyes. This man was so full of life, and an EXTREMELY emotional and passionate person. And those last pictures.... he just looks like life is slowing ebbing away.

We've actually tracked down the experts in the field. There are still a few things to try, but we're getting down to a very short list.Originally Posted by Lorie D.
Oh my gosh Laurie, that is absolutely horrible!!!!!Has Gary considered going to either the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins for treatment? These are the two top medical facilities in the country, maybe they can give Gary some relief from all that pain. Sending to you both.
