I found my cat when she was about 4 weeks old. She was tossed from a car. She survived with no broken bones. However, when I found her she was acting like she had a bad cold. I took her to a vet and was told that her sneezing would stop after the medication that they put her on. She did not. I have been to three other vets and have gotten no further information. I have been told that she will out grow it and everything else.
She still sneezes to this day. She has now shown up with some bald spot on her body. She was spayed a year ago and the fur that they shaved off still has not grown back in. Now on her back legs in two spots are going bald as well as above her eyes to her ears.
If anyone has dealt with any of these symptoms. I would appreciate any information that you can provide.
Thank you,

A very worried mom

Awww, I hope this little cat gets much better. You have to be a terrific person to have rescued this little creature and take such good care of him. The world needs more people like you. Prayers for the little one and hugs to you. I hope it all works out good.

Bless you for rescuing this little girl!

Has she been tested for Feline Herpes? If not, get her tested using the Real PCR URD test. It will accurately diagnose FHV as well as several other upper respiratory diseases.

Also, have you given her Lysine? What is she eating?

Have the vets run bloodwork....a full panel. I read something about the hair not growing back (I can't remember what exactly, LOL), and I believe it was something that's detectable with bloodwork.

Ringworm may also be something in addition to blood work

It sounds to me you are dealing with two different issues here: Feline Herpes, and Ringworm... None of them too serious though... Both of them frustrating but treatable!

You should ask your vet to test your kitty for the Herpes virus, like Stephanie said, and also run a culture for Ringworm. I had both here. There is no cure for the Herpes virus, you just manage it with reducing the stress, and adding L-Lysine to their diet, or water (I add it to all of my cat's water) - you can do this already, it will help your cat's immune system regardless. Here is the Link - since I started L-Lysine, my cat has not had another flare up. If your cat shows sign of secondary bacterial infection runny nose with green or yellow mucus, lethargy, etc, then you need to see a vet ASAP for antibiotics. But Lysine works wonders for herpes. Lysine and reducing stress.
Ringworm is a draaaaag to treat... I tried hard... and then I just gave up and let it run its course... Just treated with topic colloidal silver and that was it. We all survived and are all well... No one go it besides the original one, which was Lucky... But be aware - you can get it... But don't worry... you can treat it on yourself (not on the kitty) with athletics foot cream or spray... It will be gone in a snap. It is also treated (on you) with yeast infection cream... It will be gone it a week or so... It is hard to treat in cats but in humans it is much easier.

I hope this helps a little... Welcome to the forum... Stick around, show us your kitty!!!

WElcome and I am sorry for your problem. Your little girl is lucky to have you looking after her.

I assume she is regularly deflead, even if she is an inside kitty? Her problems show the signs of flea allergy, which can cause hair loss and runny nose. My Cinders suffers from this and pulled all her fur out on her tummy and back legs before we diagnosed it. Even inside cats can get fleas and she needs regular Frontline or Advantage. Just a thought.
