My big fluffybutt Archie can be a moody boy... sometimes he practically DEMANDS attention, cuddles, tummy rubs... other times... well... hey.. he's a cat.
Today he did something so sweet that it really touched my heart.
I sat on the sofa to collect my thoughts about errands, etc. About 2 pm...
This is normally nap time for the cats so things get quiet.
Archie jumped up on the sofa and wanted attention. OK, Arch. Rub, rub, rub. Scritch, scritch, scritch. Well, he just couldn't find the RIGHT spot to settle... he ended up on his side with his back pressed against my leg, his rear paws against the back of the sofa... I petted him.... and he fell asleep. This may not be a big deal to any of YOU, but for me it is something Archie has never done. Actually... only one other time... and he was feeling ill from his distemper booster.
Keep in mind I don't LIVE in the condo with them... I am their caretaker I guess.
But I thought the gesture... back against me- which is a trust thing... was too sweet.
He slept like that for about 20 mins.. but the other cats kept pestering ... so it was nothing more than a "cat nap."
