Gumby has the best seat in the house!

Gumby keeping warm on the corn stove - it isn't hot up there, but is warm like a heating pad (I checked once I realized she kept getting up there!).

She's gotten so big, therefore less & less adoptable

Fried kitty! She is SO pretty, I can't imagine anyone not wanting to adopt her!

My little Cleo II is a heat seeker as well. We never know where we might find her but it will always be close to a heat source.

Aw, she likes being warm! She's really pretty.

Whisper is our heat seeker. In the last week or so, she's gotten into the habit of sleeping under the bed covers. The electric blanket is always on High for them when we're home and Whisper's old bones love the warmth (she'll be 16 years old in July, so she an older kitty).

When the blanket isn't on, sometimes I'll come home from work and find her in the bathroom, sucked up against the register. And when I pick her up, she's definitely warm.

We keep our house coolish in the winter. As soon as we get home from work, DH will go to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the cats. While he's there, I'll go into the bedroom to change into sweats. I turn the blanket on the for the kids and keep both sides on High. After they're all done eating (we give them about 15 minutes or so to see if anybody will give us a pukie; both Whisper and Bootser do the pukie thing sometimes), I'll go back to the bedroom again and open the door.

You should see all the cats come running back the hallway to jump on the warm bed! It really is funny to watch the cat stampede. Anything to stay warm in the winter.

She's such a pretty little girl.

Jakie is my biggest heat seeker.. he likes to back his butt up to the heat registers in the house... I use those air flow diverters and I have to go around and reposition them on the vents all the time.

But she seems to be beautiful only to us cat lovers. Everyone else just want's a cute kitten. And black cats are always the last to go

That's pretty much hitting the nail on the head. And if Ophelia Rose wasn't trying to kill her ever waking moment of the day, she could stay here.....but the Queen B won't tolerate her at all.

So hopefully someone comes along for her - music rooms with the cats is getting annoying.

What a pretty kitty! That's what HollyHeart looks like.

And it is sad that nobody wants her. Initially, I really didn't want another black cat. We all just loved Mistoflees, and I was afraid that everyone in the family would want this kitty to be just like Mistoflees.

Well- when my friend found a mama cat, and the kittens were all black, and she was having a hard time finding homes for the kittens- that's when I said ok. Because I know people have preconceptions about black cats (though I have no idea why)

As I was reading this thread my boy Forrest was on my lap. He saw the pictures of Gumby and crawled off my lap and up the screen.

He turned to look at me with a look that said "Meowmy...she's the prettiest girl in the whole wide world". I have to agree. She is gorgeous.

She's absolutely gorgeous. Such a sleek, beautiful, black baby.

Awww! I still think she's gorgeous! Such pretty eyes and an expressive little face! I love the one where she's peeking over the edge!!

Aww, I looove her! I have a black cat, Bear.

Did anyone else notice that in the 3rd pic Gumby is flipping us off?

Natalie, I know that in your area Gumby may be "Just another black cat" but here on TCS she's a rock star!

I would take her in a heartbeat if I could. I have a real soft spot for black kitties.
What a gorgeous black kitty, and smart too to find that warm spot.
I love black kitties too. I also love them when they are older. There has to be someone in your entire area that thinks like me, If I had room I would take her but I am one cat above my limit already. I think she's gorgeous.

She is Stunning. Post that upright pose of hers, that ought to draw some takers. Positively Egyptian!

(in one of those pics she looks like an ornament that came with the stove!)
