As I said Attitude appeared to be getting pudgy in the stomach area. Well Paul felt a lump in there today. She goes to the vet tomorrow at 10.

Anyone know what this might be. The vet's receptionists response of "oh!" got me more upset than knowing about it, like she thinks it's really really serious.

Anyone know what this might be, I know the obvious one, she has cancer, but she is so young, only 8 months old. That is what I'm most worried about. I'm just scared that there is something seriously wrong with her.

Any good vibes or ideas on what it might be would be appreciated.

She is still eating drinking and being her normal active self. She was spayed a few months ago so I know she's definitely not pregnant. Her weight has stayed steady for the past week or 2 so she hasn't had any weight gain or loss, she did gained around a lb or so about maybe a month ago. She weighs 9 lbs and is a Maine Coon mix(grandma is a Maine Coon and her daddy is a very big cat, normal dsh just large body wise(and I mean bone structure and actual size, he's up to my knee on all fours, not weight, he was skinny as a rail the last time I saw him in summer.) Her abdominal area is a little pudgy like she's becoming overweight from possibly eating too much. I haven't felt the lump so I have no idea what it feels like. She does have feline leukemia and has since birth or before. She has had 4 single episodes of diarrhea over a 4 week period. She has one single episode about once a week. I only know this because it gets on her fur and she needs to cleaned up. I'm not even sure about the last one since it seems like she only has it around her butt hole(sorry, can't think of a better way to put it.)

I'm just scared for my baby. I can't help but worry about the worse case scenario.

for the vet finding all is well or at least very easily treatable. Try not to worry - I know, easier said than done - til the tests are done. Poor little girl - but she's blessed in having you in her corner.

Vibes sent hun! It could just be a "fatty mass". My aunt's beagle, Jake, has had a "lump" on his belly now for years. The vet said it was completely benign and never affected him at all.

Try not to cross that bridge until you get there. Ninety percent of all the things we worry about never come to pass. Prayers for your baby and hugs for you.

I know it's a lot easier said than done. I just can't think of anything not serious or really bad that causes a golf ball size mass inside a cat's abdomen. You can't see the lump, you have to press on her tummy to feel it.

It's too early I'm not ready to give her up. We just lost Maude, I can't face losing Attitude. I'm just hoping she's ok and whatever it is isn't expensive. I don't have a job so Care Credit isn't even and option. I just wish I could get insurance for them but I doubt any company would insure 2 leukemia positive kittens.

The first 2 questions:

Is she spayed?
and
Who did it?

The answers were yes and ya'll spayed her. Like I said if I didn't know she was spayed I would have thought she was pregnant and it shows the vet was thinking along the same lines. He asked who did it because he wanted to make sure it was a trustworthy source. Obviously his colleague is trustworthy.

Her mammary glands are swollen, and she has mastitis.

They gave her a penicillin shot and put her on Amoxicilian for 10 days.

She's also chubby(not really fat she just has a chubby tummy), but the vet likes that since due to the leukemia. I about died when I put her on the scale and it said she weighs 10.1 lbs she was 5.6 at her last appointment which was right after she got spayed, so she almost doubled in a few months. I'm going to have a very big cat and Nuts is bigger than she is.

They didn't really eat yesterday so after the appointment she went to Petco with me and I got 2 cans of Fancy Feast, 2 cans of Natural Balance and 2 cans of Friskies Indoor. I gave her and Nuts the Natural Balance Tuna and shrimp(it stinks so bad.) Her and Nuts immediately came running and started rather insistently meowing at me. I put it down and they both attacked it so no eating issues, guess yesterday was just 'one of those days.'

I also got them 2 play mice which they are enjoying. Nuts came up when Attitude was playing with one and she smacked him on his head. She then calmed down and they were playing together until Attitude decided she wanted to eat some more. She got done Nuts took the mouse away and she jumped on top of him. Like I said she has been totally normal. She doesn't appear to be hurting which is good. I had mastitis twice after having my son and I was on narcotics for pain.

I have to take her back in 7 days for a recheck to make sure she's getting better and they don't have to switch antibiotics.

I also got some Bene-Bac, how much should I give her. I got the small animal one(not bird and reptile which I know isn't safe) so it doesn't have a dosage for a cat, much less a 10 lb one.

So she's ok, not sure how a spayed cat gets mastitis but she's ok.
