Sil's at it again!

You may have read my post regarding Sil releasing her Mil's neighbors red tabby back where she caught him...after surprising him with a neuter. I put it at the end of my other post so forgive me for repeating myself, but Bil said the red cat looked like "a yellow streak" when they opened the cage and Sil said she had never seen a cat run so fast. So red tabby has headed home or to parts unknown still wondering what happened to him.

Well, with the second bunch of cats she caught, a cat lover has taken the tabby female. Sil has moved the little black kitten out of my Mil's house to make room for two more cats that are recovering from their spays. I'm a going to make the rounds tomorrow night after work if I am not too tired so I can see me some kittens! Sil is keeping the black kitten...I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't become a member of her permanent herd.

These two new cats are in the third group that Sil has sent to the vet for a spay or neuter and shots. If I am counting correctly, this makes nine cats so far. I don't know how many more there are to go.

Thanks! Even with the price reduced to $35.00 per spay/neuter it is still running her quite a bit of money. I am hoping my Mil is helping out (she is by allowing the cats to recover in her home), but I don't want to ask. My DH may be helping a little, but he keeps stuff like that kind of quiet, so I don't know....I think Sil is doing an amazing job. It seemed like a daunting task when she began, but she is making a huge difference in the lives of these cats.

I will be so happy when the situation is taken care of and the cycle of kittens has ended.

The cost can be daunting, but it was always something we felt really strongly was worth it. Your in-laws are great!

And would you believe the red cat - the one we were so sure would throw himself off a cliff when he realized he'd been neutered - actually kept getting back into the cage while Sil and my Mil were trying to catch the other cats? Maybe we had him figured all wrong...maybe he liked the neuter so much that he wants to have another one.

Meanwhile, the black female kitten that is now staying with Sil is taming up nicely. She has gotten sweet and petted.

There are three more cats at Sil's Mil's...keep your fingers crossed for no kittens before they are caught. So far, they are not attempting to go in the cages. Maybe they've seen too many cats go in and never come back....
