Sam and Bailey are really good friends now, but still pretty independent, and I really enjoy seeing how their relationship develops. (I've had Sam for almost 2 years, Bailey for 5 months).

When they have not seen each other for a short time, Sam will greet Bailey by grooming her, which usually turns into a big wrestling match. Now Bailey usually tries to groom Sam too, and then they end up fighting about who gets to lick who. Just in the past few days, Sam has started ambushing Bailey as she walks by, leaping out and knocking her over to start the play fight.

Today I found them snuggling together for the first time. Sam had given Bailey a thorough grooming session, which, for the first time, did not end in a cat fight. Then Sam stretched out on the floor, and Bailey lay next to him with her head snuggled up on his shoulder. She was sleeping, at least her eyes were closed, and Sam was just lying there, eyes open, not moving, and he stayed there until she got up and moved.

I think they may end up being snuggly cats after all!

Awwww... that is so adorable. I've never seen two kitties snuggle before. To my knowledge, cats are notorious for not getting along; even when they can stand to live with each other.

I didn't take a photo. As I started to leave the room to get the camera, they looked kind of startled, so I just stood there and watched them. I will try and get one another time, if there is another time.....

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
There will be! There'll be lots of "another" times, LOL! For the life of me, I NEVER thought Tuxedo and Spooky would snuggle up - but what do you know? Two days ago, there they were - butts facing away from each other, lying lengthwise across the back of the couch - heads and shoulders smooshed up against each other. (They'd been watching birds and fell asleep). They couldn't even get near each other without whapping each other.

I'm soooo glad to hear this!!! You must be so happy! Have that camera ready, because it's going to happen again. I'm so glad they're becoming fast friends.
