Double the points this week. Double the contest time (48 hours). Double the hardness of identifying the country. But I will start you out with a few hints. This photo was taken in 1992 in the very center of a well known country. What you are looking at in this picture are entrances to an actual city where people live.

Yes, it sure is. Turkey is the answer, but Jordan was a good guess.
This area of Turkey is known for its underground cities where Christians hid from Muslims my history books tell me. Since I was brought up Christian and my wife a Muslim, I have no further comment.
