I just wanted to know if the following is normal so let me explain some things:

Me and my girlfriend have 2 cats. A bit over a year old now that we saved from being put down in spain. Cute little buggers really and even have a spanish passport :p

Anyways...

Luna the skinny one was ill when we got her and to be honest so was I. Still recovering from the US Army and such and she would sleep curled up around my head of all places... once she got better she stopped that.

Now though she is attached to my shoulder.
Claws included lol. The scars dont matter much to me since im covered with them regardless but my question is just about any possible damage over time with them? I have scars over scars from her claws and she just wont move from my shoulder. If someone tries to pull her away its hissing and a declaration of war against the person who moves her... but otherwise purring, rubbing the top of her head to my chin and face, the base of her tail puffs out and she will eventually fall asleep there....

Just wondering if its normal or not.

If you trim her nails, you won't have this problem. Also, make sure she's got a good scratcher, too.

As was said, keep her claws trimmed, and perhaps design a pad of some sort to wear on your shoulder.

As for her choice of resting Spot, there is no "normal" where cats are concerned, each cat chooses her own Spot, for her own Reasons, known only to Herself.

That she has Chosen your shoulder is the highest of compliments!

(I had a cat who slept on my head his whole life. Curled around the top of my head when I first got in bed, he would knead my scalp, then fall asleep and never move the whole night through.
)
