3 cats 1 dog.

Hello

I have 3 cats, 1 dog.

Info about cats.

All 3 are male.

All 3 are brothers.

Eldest, 6-9 months older, the other 2 are from same litter.

We had our oldest cat's testicles chopped, since then, he has become aggressive, and takes no crap from anyone. Before he was a gentle loving cat, and always gave his full attention. Due to this, I am not getting the other 2 done.

All was going well, till we got a puppy.

Our eldest cat, attacked the puppy and now the puppy is scared of anything, all our eldest cat needs to do is be in the room, and the puppy is well behaved as our cat will not take anything worse.

It took about 3 days for the other cat to come downstairs, but he done so with our eldest (protecting him), now he will come down stairs and eat, sleep and play. Even though the dog will chance him from time to time. I think cats tell each other what happens, as when he and our eldest meet next, the eldest really went for the dog.

The baby of the litter, is a true baby. If we didn't take them early he would of died as he was not getting fed. Over time, he feels safe with me, or his brothers. Even with the vets, if he is with me, he is fine.

This is how much of a baby our cat is. Lets say he is asleep on my chair, and he wakes up, cleans himself, and then jumps off the chair, he scatters, a few feet away, turns with a arched back and bushy tail. Yes, he frightened himself as when he landed it made a sound.

How can I make our cat braver around our puppy?

Things he wont like.

Loud sounds.
Water.
Mess.
Milk.
Cat Nip.
Heights.
Live things, that move fast, mice, birds ect. unless they are slow.

How long have you had all the animals? It sounds like the puppy is a new addition. If so, the cats may just learn to relax around him on their own as they get used to one another.

You mentioned that you thought neutering your oldest cat caused him to become aggressive. That's pretty unusual. You might want to reconsider where your youngest two are concerned. Male cat spray smells very foul and is quite destructive to your home. Once they start it can be very hard to stop them even if you have them neutered later.

Had the eldest, for 3 years 6 months. Had the other 2 for about 2 Years 9 months give or take a couple of months.

Had the dog for 3-4 weeks.

3-4 weeks is still really early. It may sort itself out. In the meantime, I'd try using Feliway.
