Mornin

What is something someone has said to you that makes you stop and go hmmmmmmm?
Kinda like, best piece of advice is what I'm meaning, or something that has just stuck by you thru the years?

Sorry if I'm not clear....

I'll post mine, in the next post as example.

One of my caseworkers in a group home when I was a teen said:

Chris, always remember, there is someone out there who has it worse than you do.

and another told me Not to compare with others because inside we are all made up differently. Some things may come easy to some, hard to others. Strength does and will come to you.

and its very true. Even in my darkest times, I try to think that, both.

Some of the best advice ive had recently has been off you Chris and Danielle (sillyitaliangirl) telling me - Things will get better even though it doesn't seem it right now

and that will stick with me as it is true

Several years ago, we were having problems on a board. A member emailed me with four words: "This, too, shall pass." And then he gave me a "hug".

He was right. Since then, when I'm having a really bad day or my life just generally sucks, I think "This, too, shall pass."

My grandma told us when we were children, "The best lesson you ever learn is one you learn the hard way because then you never forget it." She was wise and right.

"It takes as long as it takes." It was applied to some now forgotten task, but over the years I have found that it applies literally to very many things, and figuratively to many, many more. Thanks, J.

"Saving one animal won't change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal." Truer words have never been spoke.

Someone once told me "live for today and worry about tomorrow when it comes". I have always worried about what will happen tomorrow rather than what is happening now. Kinda makes sense.

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated". It's from Gandhi. When I read that I just felt that it was so true and I shall never forget about this.

One of my high school teachers left a card on my desk and it said "remember, the sun is always shining above the clouds".

I was going through a dramatic high school break up, and my jerky ex was in the same class so the teacher could tell I was miserable

Anyway, very good advice on her part, I still remember that to this day.

Lately I've been using "This, too, shall pass" in my life. Especially in my job. When a coworker/friend and I tell each other about our problems, we will tell each other "this too shall pass". I'm sure there are a lot of different quotes and sayings that I have liked, but I can't think of any right now.
