So worried about Wil. - Page 2

I guess it does depend on the cat. I think visits are good because it shows kitty that even though you leave, you always come back again. How long the kitty will be in hospital might be a factor, also.

I'm sorry to hear Wil didn't eat. It's hard to judge appetite when kitty is in such a strange and stressful place, it's natural for her to not want to eat. Were you allowed to be with her in a room without the cage?

It's a good sign that she was so happy to see you! I'm sure she's stressed! Who wouldn't be? One of the things I do for my kitties when I have to leave them at the vet's for the day is to include a small baggie of their food. I even leave some when they have procedures done just in case they wake up hungry or something like that.

As for something with your smell on it, you'd be surprised how much she knows you by your scent. It might help her to calm down if she does end up staying longer.

Continuing to send healing prayers!

She had to stay in her cage. I would have held her but she's not a fan of being held at all. She just wanted me to pet her, I'd try to give her a bite of tuna and she'd headbutt my hand. I wish she would eat so she can come home.

Aw, here are "start eating" vibes!

Can/has the vet given her something to pick up her appetite?

Ok, Wil's still not eating. So, I'm gonna bring some of her regular dry food and get some wet food that she likes. She's gonna stay one more night (ugh! FOUR nights) and then come home tomorrow and see if she'll eat here. I'm not sure if being here will help, I'll have to keep her in the bathroom and she's used to being outside. I can't let her outside while she's so sick though. I'm just not sure what to do.

You really are in a tough position regarding Wil and her special circumstance.

Does she have a special bed or crate she uses outside, that can be brought into the bathroom?

That's a good idea. I have a cat shelter out there. It will be a very tight squeeze in the bathroom, but I bet she would be comfy in there. And that would stop her from sleeping in her litter box. Oh, I really wish I had an extra bedroom. Or an extra bathroom. Or just a bigger bathroom!!!

Ask the vet for an appetite stimulant and if she likes canned food and can eat it, the Science Diet a/d. Almost all kitties love that and WANT it!

Is she home yet?
