So worried about Wil.

She didn't get taken to the vet today because I couldn't find her. Well, tonight she was in one of the cat houses and wouldn't come out for anything. I had to physically take it apart. Now she's in a cat carrier in my bathroom getting steam. Her eyes are really runny and she's coughing bad. I know she hasn't eaten since yesterday. I don't know how she got bad so fast. I feel like I failed her. I didn't even realize she was sick until yesterday.

If her nose is gunked up, she probably has a hard time smelling food. Do you have any fishy/stinky wet food to feed her?

Getting her to the vet tomorrow is better than not caring at all. There's a lot of people who wouldn't even have looked twice at those cats - and you got them fixed & get them vet care. That says a lot.

It doesn't look gunked up at all. Wet food is making me puke at the moment (morning sickness, Jon has to feed Cammy and Abbey), so I didn't try it tonight, but I'll give it a try tomorrow. Anything to get her to eat.

Can you go get some meat baby food, stage 2 with no onions or garlic? You've got to get her to eat something or her liver will be in danger of being compromised. Do you have tuna or some chicken you could boil up for her?

You might have to force feed her. Is she drinking?

You might even have to take her to the ER vet.

Baby food is what I tried yesterday. I'm taking her tomorrow, first thing. We'll be the first ones at the door. I know she ate some catfood yesterday, after I put her back outside. But she wasn't there for breakfast today or dinner.

Good luck with Wil... and hope she is feeling better soon!

Oh man, I've had such a bad morning. I started crying hysterically driving her up there, and then I thought she died, and I called Jon. Then she started moving. I got her to the vet and they are keeping her for a few nights. It's a URI. It's gonna cost at least $300. But they actually do take payments, so that's a relief. I'm so stressed and exhausted right now. Trying to relax a little and try not to puke. These cats are going to kill me.

Please don't blame yourself. Cats are the masters at hiding illness and you got her the care she needs as soon as you possibly could after noticing something was wrong.

You are one of the truly good people in this world.

Breathe, honey, breathe!!!

Wil is in good hands now and will get the treatment she needs. for a complete recovery!!

Breathe deep, calming, breaths and relax your shoulders and neck. It's so rough to leave them at the vet's, but they'll probably give her IV antibiotics, fluids, and nutrition, which is what she really needs most. If she's close enough to where you work (or live), maybe you can go see her a couple of times a day. Ask them to call you (or you call them) with updates.

Oh darlin', you have such a big heart. Hoping Wil gets better quickly, and sending LOTS of vibes.

When Mama was at the vet's with her prolapse I called at least once a day(it was too far to drive to see her.)

I wouldn't have known anything was wrong with Mama if a piece of her intestine wasn't coming out of her rear end(of course if that wasn't present she wouldn't have been sick but you get the point), she was still eating and acting normal, and she was eating very well, she lost it all when they sedated her. They are masters at hiding illness. Don't feel bad, like I said Mama was showing no signs of being ill and she spent a week in the hospital getting well.

You took her in when you saw something was wrong. You could have just decided to let nature take it's course but you're like me, if they need a vet they see a vet and they all get spayed.

I hope Wil gets better soon and sending massive vibes

No leukemia or aids. She's still not eating. I sure wish she'd feel better so she won't have to stay as long, I'm using my utility and cell phone money for this. I'll figure something out for that though. Mostly I want her to feel better.

So worrisome, I'm sorry it's not better news. They have her hooked up for fluids?

Have you been able to visit her?

Did they do blood work to check organ function?

They are giving her fluids and doing bloodwork, the results for the rest will be back tomorrow.

and all the vibes in the world for your little one... As for the money, things will fall into place... They have to! I also dropped some utility $$$ today at the vet... at least we got some to take it from, right? Vibes for mamma

I am so sorry that you are two are going through this. I hope the sweetheart feels better soon, and the vet bill doesn't hurt too bad.

Okay, so she's eating a little. Her eyes look better. The rest of the bloodwork came back and the only thing was a high white blood cell count. So she still needs to stay another day (PLEASE NOT TWO!!). They said she's cranky, poor girl, she's not used to being in a cage, and she's not used to a lot of people either.

Glad she's doing a bit better. Leaving a cat at the vet is so stressful for us and for them! It's like being in the hospital, can't get any rest! Continuing to pray she gets well soon!

Normally, I feel really bad leaving a kitty there, but she was so bad it was a relief really. I knew they could take care of her and I couldn't. I'm starting to feel bad now though, since they told me she was cranky. Poor sweet kitty.
You'd be cranky too if you were stuck in a cage with weird noises, other cats & dogs you can't see and people poking and prodding you. Even though it's the best place for her to be, it's still tough leaving them there.

Hannah was at the vet's for 4 days after we first got her because she was so sick and I knew I didn't know how to care for her. They didn't think she'd survive the first night, which I'm glad I didn't know at the time, but she pulled through and is now doing great. I would visit her daily, sometimes 2x day, and she'd eat then curl up and sleep. It was just about the only time she'd eat a healthy portion during the day.

I am so glad that the results came back ok! I hope her recovery is fast.

It's so wonderful to find a place where there are so many people like me and my family. I just wanted to tell you that even though she is cranky at the vet, just think how happy she will be when she gets out of there!!

You are a sweet person, and the money will come back to you somehow. You are saving a life and there's nothing more rewarding (in my opinion) that doing that.

Another Wil update.

Her fever is gone, but she still isn't eating. I didn't get a chance to visit yesterday, so they want me to come today with some tuna. They think she's stressed out. Ugh, now I feel bad for not going yesterday!
All paws crossed that she will eat for you today.

Bring something you've worn (slept in is best) for her to have when you are gone so she has your smell near her. Even if you already have, she will need something with fresh smell of you. (nothing you value, as you may not get it back)

Good news that her fever is gone, though!

I'm not sure how much that would help, she's an outside kitty, but I'll try it. Thanks!

to you and many to Wil. !!!! We don't visit our kitties in the hospital anymore - it just stresses them out more when they think they're going home and then don't. Each kitty is different - but with the two that get hospitalized most often, it's worse when we visit. Don't stress you didn't make it the other day - it may actually be easier on her if you don't see her.

....I guess you'll find out. Do take something with your smell on it, that will help.

I totally forgot to bring something with my scent on it! I felt bad when I got there, she was so happy to see me. But she wouldn't eat the tuna! All she wanted was for me to pet her. Now she has to stay another night. I sure hope she eats. I didn't think to bring some dry food she normally eats to her, but I will tomorrow. Poor girl. And she sleeps in her litter box like Abbey did when I first brought her inside.
