One suggestion.
When I adopted my dogs, they had a transport system set up. Maybe you got get something like that going. Someone would drive a couple hours then someone else picks up and drives some more. That way you only have to go a little way. Sometimes, they will bring them to you. Just a thought.
It worked well for me.

That's a great idea! I'll have to give that one some thought too! Thanks.

I hope you can adopt Annie. It sounds like she needs a good home. I don't think there is anything wrong in wanting a certain breed and your right about people adopting persians just because they are beautiful. I have never owned a persian, but just one look tells you they are going to be a lot of work. Sending good vibes your way.

I did also had a persian cat , he did go to kitty heaven last year . Sami was his name and he was 15 years of age .I was never a persian person . I got him in germany from a cat friend . She got him from a shelter there and I need to say he was a little mischive when he was young
. Sami used to atack her old age cat and she was already 13 years old .The reason I got him from her was that I just could not see him go back into the shelter again . So he kinda grew on me . Yes it is a little work with the hair , but if you love to comb hair it is no problem to take care of a persian cat .

Yes it is a lot of work! That's why I'm a good persian mommy! Because I like to spend time grooming them and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. And believe me... Peaches gets more grooming then she cares to have! Guess I'm kind of weird, huh?

Years ago when I had my own house in Michigan I used to raise Samoyed's too. Ohhhh I love my Sammy's! Same story though. You have to like and be willing to spend a lot of time grooming and exercising them. Guess I just got that long hair thing going on there!

We had a Persian come into the grooming shop the other day and I am the only one who grooms cats, well I took this cat out of the kennel and it lunged at me and tried to attack me, needless to say I could not groom the cat and the young girl who owned it was so mad, but I did try and if people would just brush their cats a little bit every day at least they would not get all matted up like that, it makes me so mad that people want us groomers to work miracles after they have let their pets go for so long. Sorry just needed to vent.

Tarav you are so right .A Vet said to me one time that this was the first cat (Persian) for a long time he has seen being groomt right I did comb him every day . And you have to . It is sad that people take a cat in and don't care right for them . The cats don't feel well to ,if they are not care for the right way . Don't take it personal if the person was mad with you Tarav , she/he is the one not doing their part of care for the poor cat . They may have to go to the Vet and need to get the cat sadatet to do the job .I really feel sorry for the cat

Oh yeah... If I skip one day of brushing/combing Peaches she'll start getting little matts that quickly! But thank goodness Peaches has a good mommy.

No news as of yet. But I'm going to call Liz tomorrow. That's Annie's foster mom. I've been thinking about Annie all week and can't get her out of my mind. I think she is my kitty. So I'm going to offer to send Liz a down payment for Annie as a good faith measure and see if I can pick her up the weekend of the 25th. I have a long weekend. I'll let you know after I talk to Liz. I never did go see the kittens because I think Annie is burned in my heart!

Hi - any news?
Yes, I have news tonight and it's not what I wanted to hear. It appears Liz let Annie go to another couple tonight. I offered to pay for her now and pick her up the weekend of the 25th but Liz didn't feel good about it. I guess Annie doesn't travel well AT ALL! She said when she took her 20 miles in the car the poor cat did flips in the little carrier the whole way. So she is afraid I'd have a hard time driving her here.

The lady with the persian kittens I also talked about is coming Thursday and I'll get to see them. Maybe the little tortie kitty is the right one for me. If not, Liz said she has a few persians and more coming in. There is one named Nora that I think is cute. I'll go find a picture of her now..... be right back!

Here is Nora. I guess she is very petite. She is a little stand-offish but Liz thinks she will come around in time. She doesn't seem to be very fond of living with 20 other kitties!
But I guess she does like to sit on your lap or just sit next to you and doesn't mind being groomed. I think she's a cute little girl!

That's a beautiful cat! I might get slammed here but I'm going to say it anyway. <ducking> I just love those little smooshy faces on persians. There little faces only a mother could love!

No slamming from me!
I just love Tiki's little smooshed nose! But I love Echo and Bud's noses just as much!

I think Nora is adorable, however, I may be a little prejudice. We Noras may be a little reserved at first, but when you get to know us, we'll be your best friend.
