Hi everyone! Well, I kept you updated on Fluffy (fka: Hoodini) well she was getting braver and braver every day. She will get a foot away from you and if you dont move but talk baby talk to her she will stay for quite a while!! She still stays mostly hidden. But what used to be progresss has seemed to stop and sit still. I mean sure, I am happy that I know I will see her at precicely 9pm for a stare fest. Im glad I see her dart around with the kids when she thinks we are not looking. But now every day is the same. No new exciting changes. But like I said, I am greatful for the tremendous change and groth she has already had. Still wishing for more though

I know you are right. Its just so hard when ya wanna cuddle them! I wonder if THAT day will ever exist! But I cant think that far in the furure. I have to look back at me and Scooter and really believe cause in the begininning there was no way Scooter was ever gonna like me. I dont know why but this kitten hated me! It would hiss and spit. Well little by little I would talk sweet talk to him. It took a long time, then one day I had tuna, oh boy! he REALLY wanted to be my friend at that moment, so I gave him a little he looked at me like I love you now! And he got closer and closer every day and now I can pet and love on him anytime!! that was a totally unexpected ending so who knows what could happen with fluffy!!
Its just that word patience. I hate it!! lol

There is so much information about socializing ferals available in this forum! I made some suggestions your first post in this forum..... but everybody's got their own way of doing things. Yours takes a lot more time and patience, but I'm sure she'll eventually come around. It's great she has a warm home, food, love, and apparently is friends with the other kitties.

Make sure you don't stare at here, it will scare her.

I still think it would be a lot faster if you took some of the original suggestions given, but like Laurie said, people do things their own way. Just remember, my MIL's cat took about two months, and that was in a bedroom, and she was a socialized feral. So you could be waiting for a long time.

I know how you feel! I've had Elsa for 5 years now! Wow! And she's by no means cuddly, but at least she will let me pick her up and love on her and carry her around a little bit. Big difference from getting bit the first time I tried to touch her!

Perhaps it is unfortunate, but every cat is different. Whether feral or domestic, you really can't expect one to replace another.

My most recent cat does not like to sit on my lap. She will lie on top of me if I'm on the couch (it is small) and she has no choice, but she'd much rather just sit beside me. I had two cats before her and there was always a cat in my lap. I couldn't sit down without finding a cat in my lap. It sometimes annoyed me then, but I sort of miss it now.

My most recent cat does not like to be picked up at all! My last pair both just tolerated it. But the cat I had before that used to meow constantly to be picked up.

The cat I have now was a feral, and so I expect that she is happy with her independence. Yet, she is constantly meowing for me to go sit down or lie down so that she can just lie beside me. Earlier cats used to really like watching me do things around the house (Cats just love work, they can watch it for hours) repositioning themselves as I moved from room to room.

What I am saying is that there will always be things that you miss about one cat and new things to love about another.
