Oh my. I'm so stressed out. I really can't afford this, but I don't have a choice, do I? There are two sick, but I'm sure what they have is contagious. Hef sounds so rattly when he breathes. I brought him into the bathroom to give him wet food. He's so stuffed up. Wil's VERY sick, I brought her in the bathroom to give her wet food and she has a COUGH! I've never heard a cat cough. It's was so loud. She wouldn't eat. I don't know what I'm going to do if they want to keep them overnight! I can't afford that! I've started the whole colony on lysiene, and this lady that runs a cat rescue in Andover is sending me some tylan powder to put in their water. Please send vibes all they need is an antibiotic!!

If it came on suddenly it probably is something an antibiotic will fix. I use the Lysine all the time, not just when someone is having symptoms, and none had URI's in about a year.

I do the same thing with great success.

Sending lots of vibes hun, I hope they all feel much better soon!

I know, I shouldn't have stopped it. I didn't realize the powder was so inexpensive. I'll definitely be giving it to them daily from now on.

Great. Wil is nowhere to be found. They are so good at hiding when they want too. I hope she shows up tonight. I'll cage her and keep her in the bathroom overnight and bring her in first thing. Hef's always easy to catch.

Yep, thanks for asking, Laurie!

Ok, well I know some people won't approve of this, but a lady who runs a cat rescue sent me some antibiotics for Hef. He's doing much, much better.

I knew Wil was to sick for that, so she's at the vet. They got her bloodwork back, the only problem was a high white cell count. She's eating a little bit and they said she's cranky! (I bet! She's used to being outside, not used to being surrounded by people and I bet there are dogs howling there too. My poor girl) She might get to come home tomorrow. Then she'll stay in the bathroom until she's well enough to go outside.

The other kitties are started on the tylan powder and lysiene. I know I need to keep an eye on Mrs. McClanehan and Mya, those are the two Wil likes to snuggle with. Hopefully no more get sick!!

And yeah - glad you know the lysine powder's not expensive now. That'll help going forward.
I'm assuming Wil's on antibiotics.

Well, the cost of the lysiene wasn't really the issue, it was that on top of buying it in pill form and crushing them and that was a lot of work on top of the price. I was pretty thrilled when I got my lysiene powder from amazon, ten bucks for a million doses! Awesome!
