Smooch is odd - longish

I dont get him at all, hes my mams cat not mine, i dont treat him like that though i treathim like i do my two.

now since i moved back to my mams house he will bite and scratch me and just me alone, i get that he probably doesnt like that someone has moved into his house, but he has always done this since i brought him home and when i wasnt living here, but then he has his times where he will sit content watching me, i cant pet him he wont let me do that but he will let me brush him and clip his nails.

I cant redirect his attacks onto toys as he is so focused hes going to bite or scratch he will, a quick blow in the face sometimes works but then i get wrong of my mam for doing that, im at my wits end with him now im sick of being used as a scratching pole (which again he doesnt have although im nearly there talking my dad around to getting one)

at the moment hes sitting in my room just watching me and then wandering around a bit. I consider him a bad cat when i compare him to Flash and Sooty complete opposites very rare they will bite and scratch.

is it me doing something wrong, because i dont think it can be that ive moved back in as ive always been around him since day one, i joke at the minute saying its abondoment issues because i brought him home with Flash (litter mates) and i left him with my mam and i took his sister away....deep down i know thats not the case but 90% of the time its like he just hates me

How old is he?

I had a cat, Farley Velcro, who had an attitude problem as well. We found him when he was only a few hours old. He was never a cozy cat, we could pet him on his own terms or we would get a swat. Then there were other times we welcomed the attention. I attribute this to no mother cat teaching him the ropes.

Ruling out any physical problems, he may just be that way. I learned to love Farley even with all his "issues". In fact, he is in the top 3 of my all time favorites, just because he was this way. Me marched to a different drummer.

Does he behave that way towards you only? How does he treat your mom/dad? Perhaps he senses your wariness when he is near you which makes him nervous and so he reacts badly.
