I think I might have made a mistake

But I didn't realize it until after the fact...

Holland had her follow-up dental exam today, and she and I had a good, hard play session about an hour before we had to leave. My hope was that I could get her to play for a good half hour so she might want to nap, which always makes it easier for me to grab her and put her in the carrier.

Well, she played for about 40 minutes, and was still in "play" mode when it was time to go - she scampers away every time I get hear her. So I went into the bathroom (irresistible to kitties) and sure enough she followed me in. I shut the door behind her so I could grab her.

My worry now is - I'm afraid that I somehow scared her away from the bathroom, and that's where her litter box is. My bathroom door is pretty much never closed, but I don't want her to be afraid to come in if I'm in there.

The good news is she got a good report at the vet. Also, my little girl who never wanted to play now wants to play ALL DAY LONG. Which is great, because it means she's feeling 100% better. Unfortunately, her favorite games are batting small toys around until they go under the couch and me throwing her little mousie for her. If only I could teach her to bring it back...

No.... otherwise they would hate treats! If that happened everyday, yes, that would be a problem... But not just this once...

That's great that her follow up went well! yey!

I think Holland will forget the association soon enough. Unless it's repeated a bunch of times, I think no harm would be done.

I know I'm veeeeeeeery blessed that every time I get out the crate to go somewhere with Sophie, she walks straight, no fuss! The first time she did it, I told myself -- enjoy it, because now she knows! The second time she did it, I told myself -- wow this cat has short-term memory problems! After three months of still walking straight in -- I realize I just have a great kitty!

I know, I almost feel bad for my Zoe when I take her to the vet! I just have to take the crate out and leave the door open and there she comes! She loves to hide in evrything she can hide, so of course she goes in the crate first thing when I take it out. And then she looks so miserable in the car and at the vet, poor baby!

I was just thinking how stuck up my response sounded... lol Just so you all know, Sophie has more than enough vices to make up for her crate cooperation...

Glad all went well at the vet hun!

I agree with the others. I'm sure she'll forget the whole thing in no time.

Lol! Not stuck up sounding at all but I am jealous. On the other hand, because all 4 of my cats are masterminds of crate avoidance I've become brilliant at crating any cat. I guess it's all in how you look at things!

Like the others, I think you won't have any worries about the bathroom.
