I was sent the link to this quiz by a friend of mine. I got all twelve answers right. It's from PEW Research, one of the big polling firms.

Current Events Quiz

I have to admit that I sat for a few moments to think before I answered a couple of the questions. And the answer to one of the questions actually changed in the last week; luckily, I heard it reported, somewhere.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Interestingly, the answer I got wrong was how many women are on the Supreme Court.

I guessed at who chairs the Republican National Committee and got lucky.

Mike - they say they accept both as correct answers, actually, because it changed in the last week. It's seesawed somewhat frequently over the past 5 - 6 years.

Yeah, I would have done better otherwise. I also got 3

I'm not surprised some of the non-Americans did every bit as well as the U.S. average.

A similar quiz about Canada would probably totally stump most Americans. Even me, and I try to keep up with them, somewhat. (I have CBC on my Sirius radio.)

The questions are worded very awkward and misleading......."Do you happen to know....." suggests there would be a "No idea" choice which would leave less room for a lucky guess.

Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 6 out of the 12 possible questions, which means you did better on the quiz than 58% of the general public.

I guessed on some. I don't read the newspaper and haven't really watched TV for a couple of months. I just got my digital converter yesterday and watched part of the Olympics

I got 6 right. That's better than I thought I would do. My husband is a huge politics junkie, so I have heard a few things from talking to him. I got the filibuster question right b/c he told me all about that recently. There were a couple I should have got right, but I didn't read the question right or I wasn't thinking.

I got 10 out of the 12.

I missed the filibuster one and the oil consumption one. Not too bad
