My cats are gonna be the death of me yet!!

The other day Salem got out when my s/o was hauling in the groceries. I couldn't get her to come back inside, in spite of staying up most of the night trying to coax her back in, and she ended up spending the entire night outside in 30 degree weather. I finally was able to round her up the next morning after finding her on the back porch. She didn't seem too happy about being cold.

Tuesday BlackJack disappeared. My s/o started up the vacuum cleaner and they all took off as they usually do.
I noticed that BlackJack wasn't coming out of hiding like the rest of them were after he shut the vacuum off, so I went looking for him. I searched everywhere! Under & behind the beds, furniture, dressers, tables, in the closets - everywhere!. I even opened up drawers thinking maybe he crawled in one of them some where (it's been known to happen). All to no avail. I started thinking that maybe he got outside like Salem did (my s/o is notorius for not paying attention when he opens the door
). So I started looking for him outside. This went on for about 5 hours. Around 8 o'clock I noticed Winchester acting funny by my s/o's bathroom door, so I go to see what's up thinking maybe he's after a bug or something. I opened the door, and out comes flying BlackJack. For the life of me, I can't figure out just where the heck he could have been: I looked in there at least 10 times, and there was no sign of him.
I know cats can be good at hiding when they want to be, but that was beyond ridiculous. I think there must be a kitty black hole for kitties - just like there's a kitty black hole for kitty toys.

Then yesterday Geronimo gets sick with one of his FIP attacks. He hasn't had one that severe since being on the Interferon. So I had to rush him to the vet to get treated. I sure hope this doesn't mean that he's building up an immunity to the Interferon. I couldn't bear to lose him so soon too - not after just losing Maverick.

Needless to say, the last few days have been rather nerve-wracking.

Yeah, they climb through a hole in the ceiling. Seriously, when I look for a missing cat, I spend half of the time looking up.

I've actually been a witness to that happening.
When I was a kid, my grandma's cat George crawled through a hole in the attic somewhere and crawled down into the wall and got stuck in between the walls. My grandpa had to bust open the wall to get him out.
