I have my Almond and Peach tree in pots and the birds are pecking the blossoms off.
Last year they took everything and we did not get any almonds or fruit.
Any ideas what I can do to stop this from happening again.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
But can't the birds peck through the net?

Ours were large trees in the yard and we couldn't figure out how to stop it.

But if they're in pots... with the net idea... can't you build a small netted enclosure with a wood frame and sides and a top? Shouldn't be expensive or difficult.

Maybe try some owl or hawk decoys? You could print out a large photo and attach it to a cardboard cut out shape and stick that in the tree maybe. Not sure if that would work but worth a shot, trying to find something to scare them away.

Thanks Everyone,
We did look for nets ar OSH but they had nothing.
I think the nets and the scare owls would work.
The birds got all my Avocado ,Persimmons and Almonds last year.
They even got the Avocados on my huge tree.

We've always used rubber or plastic snakes.
Just wrap two or three around the limbs of the tree and the birds stay away!

OSH is a joke!

"Complete Home & Garden"

When I worked there, I was ALWAYS referring people to Home Depot because we didn't have it!

Sorry, what was the question??
