Jelous, needy cat peed on me !

Thread Starter
I have three 5 year old cats, two females Queen and Baby, and one male Boy. They are all siblings and get along well. But the baby, the rant of the litter is soo needy: just about anytime she sees me she meows and wants to be petted (then she purrs). And this morning while I was peting the Boy, she demonstratively climbed on my blanket and start peeing forcefully.

In response I exiled all three cats from my room and closed the door. And I am going to ignore Baby so I don't teach her that she can get peted by peing on me.

I HIGHLY doubt that is why she peed, especially if this is not a behavior that she has always had. Most of the time if cats are peeing outside of their litter box there is a health reason behind it and I would take her the vet ASAP.

Cats have very few ways to communicate there is a health problem that we can't see. Peeing outside the box though often ascribed to a human emotion such as anger or jealousy is rarely (if ever) the reason for peeing outside the box. It is usually the sign of a health problem.

Kailie's right - she needs to go to the vet.

Hello and welcome! I agree with the others, your kitty needs to go to the vet, and have a urinalysis done. Peeing right in front of a human that way almost always means something is wrong, often a urinary tract infection or crystals in the urine.

please let us know what you find out.

I vote with the others, especially if the urine was fairly dark or strong smelling. Generally cats express anger with their claws, turning their back to you, a growl or the way they hold their ears and tail. If she has an infection that could even explain why she is so clingy, she feels bad and wants comfort from you. They are so good at hiding pain, that you'll neverguess from ordinary behaviour that they don't feel fine.
