I'm sorry I wasn't able to put an update on Finnegan up last night, but I was called into work last minute and had to go in despite my baby needing me. I did have my roommate take care of him, but, still, he's my baby. Thankfully, he was (and continues to be) okay. In fact, you wouldn't even know he went through surgery yesterday -- he's my little trooper.

Anyway, Finnegan is doing great
! As soon as I walked through the vet clinic's door, I was bombarded with the receptionist, a couple of the techs, and even the vet -- they were all telling me how they loved Finn and wished they could bring him home with them! Apparently, he was quite the charmer yesterday. They were in love
. They said he was the most easy-going kitten they'd ever seen. Before his surgery, he was just purring and playing. Being in a cage didn't bother him one bit (and he's never been in a cage). They had no trouble getting labs drawn and he was an angel during his exam. The surgery, too, went perfect. And, afterwards? Once he was awake, he was purring and playing once again. The funniest thing they had to share was that they removed his toys (I brought a few for him) to try to keep him quiet after the procedure and so when they heard him playing with something, they couldn't figure out what it was. Well, the tech walked in and there Finn was -- he had taken a piece of poop out of his litter pan and was batting it around! He's such a silly boy!

Finnegan has seemed perfectly fine since his neuter. His behavior is normal, he's eating and drinking well, he is using his litter box, and his neuter site looks good. The vet wasn't concerned with him licking the area since he is so easy-going and, while I'm keeping an eye on him, he hasn't even bothered with the area. I am trying to keep him semi-quiet today, but they weren't worried about him acting rambunctiously. They don't expect any issues and, at this point, I don't either. It's funny now that I was so worried yesterday -- but I am grateful that we're past the neuter and ready to have a long, happy, healthy life together!

The vet called me the day after Attitude's spay to see how she was and I told them she was fine but I couldn't keep her from running and jumping. The receptionist laughed when I told her this and said that she was a normal active kitten and she knew there was no way to make her be calm. After all no one told her she had just had surgery.

After Goldie's(one of our ferals, she around 1, either her or Biter are Attitude and Nuts mother) spay we let her out of her carrier when she got back(like they told us to) within 30 mins she was climbing a tree.

It's impossible to keep them calm after surgery, they don't know they're supposed to be calm and just had surgery.

Glad he's doing well.

The humane society told me that I'd have to keep HollyHeart quiet for 2 weeks following her surgery. Yeah- right, like that's going to happen
I'll try my best, but how am I supposed to explain to Sneaky Pie that Holly just had surgery and they can't chase each other all over the house for 2 weeks
