I just got home, and my cat is showing obvious signs of an ear infection. I've got her an appointment with the vet first thing tomorrow morning. In the meantime, does anybody know of anything to do to make her more comfortable tonight? Poor thing is miserable!

Nothing replaces a vet check, but since you are going in tomorrow... IF you have colloidal silver at home.... that's the only thing I dare to use on my cats for anything like that as a "home remedy" before traditional antibiotics... BUT I AM NOT a vet, and that is my experience only... I am glad you are going in tomorrow... CS is an a good antibiotic and atifungal if you have it though... I always have it home for them for minor cuts, fungus, claw troubles, etc... It is an everything first aid here, both for me and for them.

I am not sure I would put CS INSIDE the ear. I think of it as a topical. Personally, I would just leave the ear(s) alone until tomorrow.

You don't want to make it worse.

It also depends on what is causing the ear infection.

No shock to me, I was expecting this answer - you have been researching a lot of things for over 15 years

Well.... Doctors all over the world have been using it for thousands of years... Still use it in babies eyes in many many many countries - hardly topical, IMO... It is in water filters to disinfect water. I use it on my cats, and a couple of drops on the ears, a couple of times will kill a fungal infection so quick that make Tresaderm looks like a joke.
For myself, thank goodness I have it home... I know I will never have an infected cut again.
CS is probably the first antibiotic, and antifungal in the World, and it is really mainly distilled water when you really look into it. To be afraid of it, is what is surprising for me... I mean, to be harmed from CS, you really need to try hard. As a chemist (that might come as a surprise to you, but I am one), I tell you, this stuff is way too diluted to be harmful if used as directed. As I said - gotta try hard to hurt yourself with CS. Gotta try really hard.

What about heat? Works well for soothing human ears. I'd just be worried about what's too hot.

Poor kitty! Hope she gets some relief soon!

Hurt is relative ... I would say use a new thread or PM me ... I know many who have been but that is another issue
and WAY WAY off topic....
