Vitamin e oil

Hi, I picked up Vitamin E Oil at the drug store on a doctor's recommendation for a scar. It shows the other ingredients are coconut and soybean oil. I put it on and my cats started licking it off like a fiend!

Does anyone know if it's safe for my cat? I cannot find a definitive answer anywhere. THANKS!
