I love my new job and I look forward to going there every single day! But I just don't want to go today!

For the past week I've been on a decluttering mission and have been going through cupboards and drawers getting rid of "stuff".... all kinds of stuff! And I'm enjoying seeing the results!

My kitchen is about 95% finished. I can't reach the top shelves of the cupboards, or the top of the cupboards where I have some things I want to get rid of. I do have a metal step ladder, but I'm afraid to stand on it because of my balance issues. So that stuff will have to wait.

My linen closet is nearly done too. I did a precursory run through and threw some stuff out and put some other stuff in the charity box. I just have to straighten out a shelf with the remaining stuff. The linen shelf is nice and tidy.

Last night I started on the bedroom closet and made good progress. I did a bit more this morning and have a pile of folded, ready to bag clothes sitting on my bed. My goal is to empty out at least 1/2 of the bedroom closet. Granted, 3/4 of what will be remaining will still be too small to fit me, but at least they are in a more reasonable size that I can grow down into them and not have to buy more as I go down a few sizes.

I'm actually having fun getting rid of stuff! It's such a freeing experience. I feel like I'm letting go of baggage!!

Hopefully I'll be done by Friday, because this weekend I want to spend some time using my new bread machine and slow cooker. I've been holding off trying them out because I didn't want to get side tracked.

I love de-cluttering; the problem is that different stuff always comes back!

My niece and niece-to-be are coming up next weekend because I plan on going through my kitchen. There are things that I no longer want and no longer need that the girls would love to have. Some dishes, Christmas dishes that don't match my Winterberry pattern that I use for the holidays, some baking containers that I had in the kitchen. I figure I'll rip through the kitchen and then they can take what they want. Whatever they don't want will be going to a large community yard sale at the end of May. You're right; it's baggage and it needs to go. I do that about every five years or so, trying desperately to clean rooms.

But like I said, whenever I do get rid of something, something else always takes its place.

(Now, get to work!)

BTW, if you'd like some crock pot/slow cooker recipes, let me know because I have some good ones that are so easy to throw together. I also have some delicious bread recipes that use a bread maker. My parents gave me a bread maker about five years or so ago. DH has used it twice, I think; I've used it once. Hmmmm, maybe that needs to go, too.

I'm here! At work that is!

I'd love some slow cooker recipes and some bread machine recipes. I haven't looked in Google, but all of the bread recipe books that I have are not designed for bread machines and I don't know if you have to do something special to adapt it, or if you can just use the machine to mix and knead and then just form it into a loaf pan the old fashioned way and bake it in the oven. I still have to read the machine's instructions in more depth.

I love decluttering!!! I am currently decluttering my office as we have moved to a new location and my office is smaller than the old office and so have had to go through everything - there is SO much junk - I am so glad that my city has a recycling bin system as this makes it easier to get rid of all that paper!

Doesn't it feel great to free yourself of all that extra stuff you really don't use or need. I went thru all that when I moved last May but I was moving into a bigger place so it really felt great. I have so much room in my kitchen cabinets so that I was able to really spread everything around and it looks much neater too. I have always hated clutter and now can live without it. Good luck in your endeavor, you will feel so much better :-)))
