As is my routine in the morning, I scoop the litter box. So there I am doing my thing and lean over to scoop the box when Chynna comes in and starts nosing around.

She usually sits there and waits for me to scoop and then gets in once it's nice and clean. Not this morning! She put her front half in and sniffed around while I continued to scoop. Next went her back half.

So there I was scooping around her while she was going pee!

A few minutes later after I was done, she went back in and did #2

She's a quirky girl, but I love her

I hate it when they do that because I then have to wait for the clump to solidify or it's a mess.

They also always want to use the litter box I just cleaned. When mine see me ready to clean the box they have to use it.

I think it's just a cat thing, they want to be last and first to use the box.

Fiona does this. I actually like it that way. There is nothing worse than scooping than hearing ReeRee going #2....
he is super stinky and I feel compelled to go back and scoop for a second time so the other cats have a clean box. Fiona is polite enough to do it as I am scooping...."Wait Mom, I've got some more for you!"

Yep, I know that feeling when you are cleaning it, they want it. I have only just recentely got a litter box but I must say its working out fab-no more accidents but the cats are even more lazier now

I love kitties and their litter box antics!

All four of my cats have their own litter pan rituals. Cassidy always has to nose around while I'm scooping. She can't let me near the box without her supervising me -- after all, what if I do it wrong?! Delaney is my kitty who likes to use the litter box right after I scoop or clean it. As soon as that scooper goes back into the trash bin, Delaney is in the box and in position
! Emory is the one who likes to pee in the box while I'm scooping. It's always funny watching Cassidy and Emory vie for the perfect position -- one to make sure I'm doing everything up to their standards and the other to get in a quick pee before the box is clean. They're so funny. And, then, there's Finnegan. He likes to help me scoop. He is always attacking the scoop or digging out some poop to play with. I guess he's your typical boy -- always ready to get his paws dirty! He also likes to climb into the trash to scoop out the poop I just put in, but what can you do? He's lucky he's cute. Actually, they all are!

I think Chynna was just helping you out. Silly kitty!

Mines do that too! And Zoe is so happy to dig in the new litter when I change completely the old for the new one. She will dig and dig before doing her thing (and after, of course), as if she was so amazed that it is completely odour free. I find it adorable.

Mine do not do it all the time but like farleyv said "when you gotta go, you gotta go". It can't be helped really.

Yeah, I have a couple of kitties who deposit toxic waste... they can clear the room!!!

It's also funny HOW they do it... Prowler plants his back legs outside of the litter pan and digidigdigdigdigdigs with his front paws.... like a dog making a hole to bury a bone... THEN he hops in and goes #2.

Rex will do anything to not have his paws in THAT PAN... I have two side by side... he digs a hole and then precariously perches on the edge where the boxes come together!!
