Hi, I'm new here although I have had cats almost all my life. I am chilling (literally) in beautiful Madison with BF and three feline friends, Bear (chocolate lynx point shorthair), Maggie (seal bicolor ragdoll), and Mazo (brown tabby longhair.) Bear and Mazo are nonstandard Munchkin brothers.

We are a middle-aged, childfree couple who love all kinds of animals, hiking/camping, especially up north, cooking/grilling, and music (BF is a professional rock musician, he plays bass guitar.) We also enjoy things that have to do with water - a good thing because we are surrounded by it.

Politically we are progressives, we don't care for organized religion, and we won't get married until all Americans can enjoy that privilege. Not trying to be controversial, just putting that out there.

And I sure could use some advice about trimming claws. Our cats just hate it

Wow, sounds like you and I are very similar in a lot of ways. I'm Kailie and my BF, Dana, and I are owned by the Excellent Eight you can see in my sig.

We can't WAIT for the summer as we also love camping/hiking. It needs to hurry up.

As for nail trimming, good luck. We just try to do it as quickly as possible and to try and shed as little of our blood as we can.

Hi and Welcome!!!

As for trimming claws, I just get someone to help and get it done quickly. They are only mad for a few minutes then it's over. I've heard some people play with their kitties feet between trimmings so they are used to it. Good Luck!!!

he he...thanks for the suggestions, and the welcomes! My Munchkins are great jumpers, especially Bear the athlete. However they are nonstandards (meaning their legs are of normal length) so they are like any other cat.

Madison is beautiful in the summer...can't wait, although winter has its attractions too.
