Just wanted to show off my sweetie's current pride and joy. DH is the gardener in the family. At the moment, he is particularly pleased with one of his jade plants, which late last fall hinted that it might be interested in flowering. So he did a little research, and has been coddling it ever since. It was already his favourite, as it has a lovely shape, but here are the results of a winter's TLC...

It is always fulfilling, when a plant that we have been favoring, responds to our loving care.

Nice one Fran's DH.

Learned something new today. I had no idea that they produced flowers.

Very cool and I bet that took some serious coddling. Congrats to your DH.

Is that a "cats off limits" area?

You know I have bengals.....houseplants haven't existed here for more than a decade.

That's the first time I ever saw a blooming jade.....how beautiful! Congrats to your DH for having such a green thumb. He should be very proud of that plant. It's got a beautiful shape and it looks healthy and lush.

Wow, very, very pretty!

There is no way I could keep plants around here... I thought I'd be smart and keep a hanging plant a couple years back. That was until Osiris figured out he could launch himself off of the chair and hang off the plant.

Oh Fran, that is something of which to be proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I, like the others, had no idea they bloomed!

Thank you for the shot of the whole plant. I can see why it's his favorite - it is really beautiful.

Oh well done Fran's DH!!

I have never seen one in bloom before either. I love the jade plants. Unfortunately the one I had died.
To add insult to injury, everyone else seems to have a jade plant thriving at their place.

Yeah, I can imagine that your house would be dangerous territory for house plants. The houseplants around here are fairly safe these days. The girls have outdoor access and work off any inclination to climb and leap out there. It's a long time since they have posed any real threat to plants -- though Fawn was attacked by jades and other plants as a kitten.

Thanks everyone for your appreciation -- I had to share.
