My Finnegan is getting neutered tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck! While I know my little boy will be just fine, I can't help but feel anxious about the situation.

I have to drop Finn off at the vet's office tomorrow morning at 7:30am. His surgery isn't scheduled until 11:00am, but he needs to be there early so that they can do bloodwork and a physical exam before the surgery. I should be able to pick him up at 4:30pm, but, right now, that feels like an eternity. I don't know how I'll get through the day without my little baby! He's my shadow -- it will feel so lonely at home without him.

It's been ages since I've had to get one of my kitties spayed or neutered. My current cats were all spayed while at the shelter. Let me tell you, I didn't miss the worrying that came along with getting a kitty ready for surgery! I'm well aware that neuters are routine, but I just can't help being a little nervous. After all, there are so many what if's. But, for the sake of my sanity, I'm not going to go there...

So, if you can spare any vibes for my Finnegan, they'd be most appreciated. And, maybe some for a nervous meowmy, too!

I know exactly how you feel! I went through a few weeks ago with Teyah, and although I knew she was going to be just fine, I ALWAYS worry.
Good luck Finnegan!

Lots of love and vibes for Finnegan, and for you too. Any procedure where we have to leave them is nerve wracking.

Best wishes for a safe surgery and a quick recovery - and, yeah, I get upset and nervous when they're just going in for a dental cleaning.

Today is just inching by. I dropped my baby, Finnegan, at the vet's office this morning at 7:30am. His neuter was scheduled for 11:00am, but it was pushed back to 1:00pm due to an emergency that they had to deal with. I've spoken with the vet tech working with him a couple of times today and he is doing well, but I just want my little boy home with me. I wish it was time to pick him up -- I was supposed to be able to bring him home at 4:30pm, but due to the delay, I won't be able to get him until 6:30pm. That seems like an eternity from now...

On the bright side, I found out that the little bugger now weighs 5 pounds. I can't believe it! I knew he had gone through a growth spurt recently, but he's gone from 3.8 pounds to 5 in just under 2 weeks. He's not overweight by any stretch and the vet says he's perfect, but it's hard to imagine my Finnegan growing up. He's only 4.5 months old! His bloodwork also came back and he's as healthy as a horse. He was retested for FeLV/FIV and is negative...again. So, we're on track towards having a healthy, happy, and very long life together. Now, if we can just get through the neuter surgery, we'll be golden. And, while I know he'll be just fine, the waiting is the hardest part.

It's hard to know that my Finn is in surgery right now. The vet tech said that she'd call me the minute he was out of the procedure and starting to wake up. I'll update here as soon as I know more, but, for now, I would appreciate it if you all could keep the vibes coming .

I just heard from the vet tech at the clinic where Finnegan was getting neutered. He sailed through his surgery and is awake. The procedure was successful and he woke up very quickly. In short, everything looks great!

Apparently, my little boy is no worse for the wear. He's already purring and trying to paw at the vet techs so that they'll play with him. He's used his litter box and has had a little water. And, while we were on the phone, she had another tech give him some food (I provided it) and he started munching right away. She said their main concern is keeping him relatively quiet for the next couple of hours. My little man is such a good boy!

I'll be able to pick Finn up a little earlier than originally planned. I should be at the clinic by 5:00pm. The vet did give him a little bit of pain meds, but he didn't seem too bothered by the procedure at all. He's so easy going -- he really is the best kitten (and, no, I'm not biased
).

I'm thankful not to be worrying anymore about my little guy. But, I do wish he was home with me. The next 3 hours are going to go very slowly. It looks like the vibes worked -- Finn is now a neutered big boy!

We will keep your baby in our thoughts, I'm sure everything will be fine. Both of my boys went Monday and I was surprised at how well they seemed when they got home that afternoon... the hardest part was foloowing the "keep them from jumping" rule... heck, how do you do that without tieingthem down? lol Anyway... the incisions look nice and they are acting normal... but I was a wreck Monday morning too. There was a small moment of laughter though, when we got to the vet I took both cats inside and sat them down in their crates and went to sign in... I heard a small noise that sounded like a bark... I knelt down in front of Princeton's crate and went to comfort him... and there to my surprise was Bella, my shih tzu!! She must have snuck in while I was rounding up the cats.
