I used to have to go to the ER all the time as a young teen because I would have HORRID gallbladder attacks.
I had it removed when I was 16 finally.

Too many to count.
Broken bones, severe asthma attacks and an ulcer (thought I was dying with that one).

I had to go when I was young young because I had the Bird Flu. It was horrible.

November 2008 I had a severe Kidney Infection and had gone septic, they said if I hadn't have came in when I did, I would have died before daybreak. That was the worst 3 days in the hospital! I hate the hospital, I hate needles and I HATE being sick! So Yeah, I try to stay healthy and AWAY now. lol!

Is Chris (Snake Lady) our Tuesday Question person? Feel better soon!

The last time I hit the ER was due to a suspected heart attack back in June, 2009. I had been taking fosamax (for bones) for about two months and kept feeling worse and worse, joint pain, muscle pain, really bad chest pain, jaw pain, etc. When the chest pain got so bad, I couldn't take it anymore, I thought I'd better head to the ER. Called my doctor and got the OK, and headed to the hospital.

Stupid, stupid, stupid drug! You know sometimes the cure is worse than what ails you. It was an upper GI problem due to the fosamax. Believe me, for the next two weeks, I was tested for everything under the sun, went through a couple kinds of stress tests, including the one on the treadmill (running without a bra is definitely my idea of fun...not), blood work, GI tests, you name it, I had it. It really was a result of the fosamax. The doctor told me that most of the women around my age that they now see at the hospital with suspected heart attacks are those who started taking the bone drugs. Nasty drugs they can be. And I'm still having such jaw pain in my right upper jaw....which my dentist says is also from the fosamax. And it's been....what.....9 months since I stopped taking it?

The good news? I'm as healthy as a horse. No clogged arteries, no cholestrol issues, no stomach ulcers, no GI problems. Nothing. Which is really pretty good for somebody my age. I wouldn't advise anybody to take that stuff.

For myself only, only one time.
When I was around 5 years old, I shoved m&m's up my nose to impress a friend.

I think maybe I went to the ER about 3 or 4 times in my lifetime.
One was for a bad cough which turned out to be pneumonia.

Another time I was sent there from my Dr's. office because I had trouble walking, he thought I possibly had a blood clot, after many tests it turned out I had non-hodgkins lymphoma.

I remember another time when I had such pain in my lower side back, I was checked for kidney stones but none were ever found. I still get that severe pain on and off.

These are what I remember.

Twice - that I can remember.

Back in 2004? for a cat bite. It was on the lower part of my right hand, just slightly above the wrist. I knew that was a really bad place to be bitten (little bones, easy to get a really bad infection in) and it was on a Friday after 4pm. So it was ER or wait till Monday.

It was actually a bit amusing. I'm a bleeder so the towel I had wrapped around my wrist to keep me from bleeding on everything had been mostly bled through. The admissions clerks in the ER flipped!

Second time was when I had a C. diff infection for a week at that point. I was severely dehydrated, had a high fever, and my heart rate wouldn't go under 150bpm when I was laying down. They made things a bit worse for me with bad medications.

I've had several times that probably should have sent me to the ER, and would have sent most people (chest pain, palps, concussions with memory loss, bad bad pain, etc) but I'm too stubborn to go.
And before that, for things that most parents would get medical care for their child for (bad heat exhaustion/heat stroke, car accident, falls, pneumonia, etc).

I'm sure I've been in the ER as a baby, too. since I have a couple dents (and scars) on my head that were from falling on tables when I was a toddler. I was ridiculously clumsy then, too

Wow... I really can't answer that question since my parents took me to the er when I was a baby, abut 2 or 3 weeks old with digestive issues. This year I was there twice, 2nd time they admitted me to the hospital and found that there was something wrong. Before that 2005 I went because I was vometing after having a tooth pulled. Um... a bunch as a kid, my health was never good growing up. I remember once at 17 I was having a major reaction to mediaction. Twice in one night when I was 18, they found I has big cysts on my ovaries. Um... I don't remember if or how many times in between then (1993) and 2005.

Be safe.

When I was 8 yo I put my hand through a window-ER trip #1
When I was 23 , 24, and 25 I got Cat Scratch Fever-ER trip #2, 3, and 4
Then just recently 13 hours in ER for ovarian cysts and fibroid tumors (I would rather have had cat scratch fever)
