I'm probably one of the few people alive who is actually living and working my dream job. I've worked in the Operating Room for over 25 years. I started as a Surgical Technologist, trained as a First Assistant, and returned to school for my BSN. I love being able to assist in life saving and/or life altering surgery. I honestly can't imagine doing anything else. I truly believe that God guided me into this field.

If I had the math ability, I'd have loved to go into anything in the physic category - astrophysics or theoretical physics, especially.

Less lofty, would probably be some form of researcher. Digging through information and working alone actually are things I enjoy.

My dream job would to be a successful writer. Get up early, write for a few hours. Have my time to myself. Take care of the cats, write some more. Get dinner, have a quiet evening on the yard swing and repeat the next day.

Oh well, there is still time.....

great question. a hard one for me to answer, but i thought about it for a few minutes and here's my answer

an interior designer who has transcended survival mode

in other words, non-struggling "Wealthy Me" would design for the joy of it (and do lots of discount and pro bono work to improve the lives of others - just to see them smile and cry tears of joy like HGTV) while not worrying one bit about my bank account. in other words, not to pay for daily food, bills, housing, etc. like a regular job (an acquaintance of mine called that "survival mode", widely known as "making ends meet")

hey,you said dream job

my business would be named Emotional Interior Design, Inc. and I'd ocassionally be on TV and people would know me as "that eccentric rich person with a big heart and designs for free"

I'd love to operate a bed-and-breakfast. Our son keeps looking around the Lancaster, PA area for a huge, old house that we could renovate for a B & B.

And we would accept cats.
(But no dogs
)

I'd be a successful writer, and moonlight as an incredibly talented singer who paints masterpieces in her spare time..

CHEF!, I love to cook! For leisure, sadly.

On a serious note, I would love to sing. I just don't know how to get out of here and get on with it.

If I couldn't do that, I would have an shelter for small dogs and cats, no kill of course!
I partly live that dream already, I adopt the animals out of my pound here and find them homes! It makes me feel so good when the little pets find a home and I hear stories years from adoption on how spoiled they are, it is a wonderful feeling!!

I have always wanted to be a wealthy artist, live in a lighthouse on Cape Cod, be eccentric and have scads of cats. I've only got the eccentric thing going for me now.
