So just within the past few weeks one of our male semi-feral cats has been harrassing(attacking, swatting at) our lone female cat.
We have 6 cats in total, the male semi-feral came in with his brother who is more skiddish then him. They live indoors and we got them as kittens but they never fully came around to our socializing.
Chance the neutered male is about 18 months old. Charley the spayed female is almost a year old. All the cats get along with each other for the most part, they each have there favorites but they all do well together. Chance has a pretty sweet disposition, he doesn't seem overly aggressive and is not the most dominate cat out of our 6. Charley is sweet but can be very grumpy, with other cats and us. If she is not in the mood or doesnt want to tolerate you she will make her own little grumpy annoyed noises and sometimes hiss - other times she will cozy right up next to you and/or other cats.
Recently(past two weeks) when Chance is around Charley he will go after him. It hasn't gotten to a serious fight but its occurred enough that Charley now avoids walking by Chance and when Chance is around does what she can do stay away(she would normally not tolerate this from anyone but I think Chance is just bullying her for whatever reason).
We haven't had any recent changes, we brought our 6 cat into the home 4 months ago but nothing else. Our space is tight, our condo is only about 950 sq ft for us and the 6 cats. We have been looking for a home and hoping that will help alleviate the stress from some of the cat(if that is occuring).
We are hoping this does not escalate but looking for reasons that we might not have already thought of. We really feel bad for Charley because now she is looking over her shoulder around the house because she doesnt want to get run down.
Thoughts?
