Here are a few questions about Valentines Day of course

What did you receive today from your SO and what are your plans, if any.

What is the most special or memorable gift you received from him or her on Valentines Day.

The most memorable gift I received for Valentines Day was a beautiful new black Oldsmobile Cutlass with red velvet interior. This was back in the 70's while I was married and living in CA. It was the first diesel engine I ever owned. That is something I will never forget.

Happy Valentines Day to all.

In a state of misery w/o my Bella
We haven't exchanged gifts yet today, we will after dinner! (it is also our 12th Anniversary
) But my most memorable gift was our 10th anniversary when David had a ring made for me in honor of
Bella
her Birthstone is Sapphire, and my favorite color is pink, so he gave me a pink Sapphire ring with a heart shaped diamond on both sides, it's so beautiful and I LOVE it

DH is on call today so we made no plans for today. We'll celebrate next weekend when he's not aggravated by working on a Sunday.

We don't do a lot for Valentine's day but I do recall that Steve bought me an aquamarine ring on Valentine's day shortly after we started dating. I was a little shocked because 1) it was a ring, and 2) he's a non-conformist and I thought for a moment that he was proposing to me. That came later that year and the engagement present was a set of pearls, not a ring at all.

Valentine's day has never been an important day for me - and it isn't for Gary and I. We tell each other we love each other at least every day, and we do thoughtful things for each other all the time... often I wake up to a love note written on the shower wall or bathroom mirror or something.

Gifts these days are only practical.

I got him a card and will give it to him later. Don't know if he got me one and won't be upset if he didn't.

SO true Laurie!

Dana and I celebrated yesterday as well.
We gave each other really beautiful cards. The one he gave me made me cry.
We wanted to go on a road trip but couldn't really afford it, so we went out to dinner and then to the movies to see The Wolfman, good movie! (Although I didn't like the ending.) I gave Dana a Dairy Queen ice cream cake because he loves them and this morning he took me out to my favorite breakfast resturant, Cora's, for a nice Valentine's breakfast.

As for the most memorable gift he ever gave me, it was probably the single red rose he gave me when he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was a small gesture that meant SO much!

We don't participate in Valentine's day, its just not important. I got him a candy bar at the store today, if that counts.

We actually aren't really up to much today. We were too busy during the week to run out and get gifts for each other (we had set a $10 max) so decided we would just skip gifts this year and get some candy later when it's on sale.

We'll try to do a very early dinner somewhere that's not crowded or we'll just get a pizza. I'm not really into Valentine's Day. I hate crowds too which adds to it.

I see many of you don't celebrate Valentines Day, I haven't either for many years but this is the first Valentines Day that Russ and I are together so that makes it a little special.

We will be going to the Outback one of my favorite restaurants later this evening. I have a card for him but that's it, don't know if he has anything for me yet and it's ok either way. The card is a funny one, I didn't want to go all romantic, not yet anyway

We don't celebrate, either. DH knows I don't really like jewelry aside from plain rings - even though I make jewelry.

He also knows the perils of cut flowers with cats around and has never bought me any. (Sho in particular, has a taste for roses..)

We're both pretty boring and enjoy staying at home.

(slightly amusing, birthday and christmas gifts he gets me are not that typical. I collect music so he buys me cds. I've also gotten computer parts - christmas was a new 1Tb internal HD.

We went out for a lovely dinner at this quaint little Italian place. Our first time there... we really enjoyed it!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
This Valentines Day has pretty much been ruined by everyone else but us this year. Family drama started yesterday that had to do with a baby shower today...Yeah a baby shower on Valentines Day..what a way to celebrate Franklins Gotcha Day and GiGis birthday. My mom decided that she HAD to have me babysit even though I SPECIFICALLY stated to her this week, last week, and a month ago that we had PLANS today! Nope still got weaseled into doing what everyone else wanted today. So my good thing about today is that Fatman has a date tonight with Claire, BF loves me and my word of the rest of my life is NO!

**I really need to get into a better mood right now but after the phone call I just got...Nope not gonna happen**

We don't do gifts on Valentine's Day. We went out for dinner last night, and it was lovely, and we exchanged cards earlier today. Other than that, no plans -- no need to plan kisses, hugs, and "I love you".

All Answers are great and lovely!...

this year we decide do not go outside to celebrate,...
why? because Feb/14 fall in the middle of Mardi - Grass week...
so my city is a chaos....
if you go out to dinner no places available where you want, or if you get a place the waitress are a bit stressed by the lot of charge of work and maybe you can get a bad service...

We decide a intimate Celebration at home!...

of course with our 3 Blesses!...

Have a nicely night today everybody!...

This was our first Valentine's Day together! Jack and I actually celebrated last night because I had my grandmother's viewing today and we thought it would be better to do it early.

Last night he came over to my sister's house and we had dinner with all of my family. (A special treat as they're not in town everyday!) He told me to go in the living room and look beside the couch....he had a huge bucket, a brand new aquarium vaccume (a NICE one) for my fishtanks, a beautiful longstem red rose, and at the bottom of my Valentine's card, a message telling me that Bob (the owner of one of the local fish stores) had a brand new Green Spotted Puffer fish waiting for me that would be out of quarentine on Wednesday!
(He showed me a picture that he had taken on his phone of my new GSP at the store!) It was soo sweet!

We are both huge into aquaria, so he knew exactly what I needed/wanted for my tanks! I had just been talking this week about needing a new vaccume for my tanks
(I have 4 large tanks and 5 betta setups & he has 3 large tanks) My absolute favorite fish (green spotted puffer, Gizmo) passed away about a week ago, so Jack knew I was wanting another one! He apparently ordered one from our local fish store last week when it happened and Bob just got him in a few days ago (Our local fishstore owner always quarentines new fish for 5 days before selling them...he's amazing about the way he takes care of his fish).

I think my favorite thing Jack gave me was my card though. It was soo sweet.

The front says, "Love You" and the Inside says "Fur-ever! Happy Valentines Day"
Then Jack wrote," On their first Valentines Day, my grandfather gave my grandmother one red rose. He now gives her 54. You're going to need a big vase too! Love, Jack.
P.S. Bob has your new GSP. We can get him Wednesday."

(How sweet is that????
Ahh I love him!

I'm late jumping into this thread. BF and I don't celebrate Valentine's day, we feel as though every day should be full of love and care, so we don't need a special day to tell each other that we love each other... but being sweet as he is, he still got me flowers, candy, and a teddy bear.
